The Dance

The sun was starting to set, the party did not stop there though.
Legolas saw Ithilwen in her dark midnight blue dress, she did not notice Legolas walking towards her.
Once he was closer she finally noticed.
"Hello Legolas." she said as she smiled.
Legolas nodded his head, then stood by her.
"So did you find a better way out of the cave?" Ithilwen asked.
"Yes, we did." Legolas replied awkwardly.
Legolas waited a moment, then he finally got the courage to ask her.
"Do you...um... want to dance?"
Ithilwen looked at him strangely, "You dance?"
Legolas slightly nodded his head, "Yes I will." Ithilwen said with a small laugh.
So then they walked towards the others who were dancing, and Legolas took Ithilwen's hand.
They started to dance with the music, it was soft and quiet.
They avoided eye contact, and both of them were looking at different things.

Then they were both silent, the music started to get faster and everyone started to change partners again.
Legolas didn't know what to do, neither did Ithilwen.
Suddenly Ithilwen got taken by another elf, and Legolas did as well.
He looked at see who it was and it was, an elleth with light red hair and a crooked smile. Legolas looked at her strangely as she stared at him.
She smiled at him and he looked away, hoping to change partners soon.
Once they did he ended up with Laineth, she realized who it was. Then started to mess up the dance, she almost fell just when Legolas caught her before she hit the ground.
"You alright?" Legolas asked.
She nodded her head then smiled, "I'm not the best dancer."
Legolas smiled, "Me either."
Then they switched partners once again, Legolas spotted Ithilwen who was dancing with Elrohir.
That annoyed him, he realized now he was dancing with another elleth who recognized.

"Eärna?" Legolas asked.
She nodded her head, and smiled.
"It's been awhile." Legolas said, she looked at him.
"Yes, it has." she replied.
It was time too switch partners again, Legolas was now with Milia.
He looked at her, "So how's your dance partner doing?" Legolas asked sarcastically.
Milia rolled her eyes, "He's fine, how's yours?"
"Well right now it's you. So how are you?" Legolas smiled.
Milia couldn't help but laugh, Legolas looked up and saw who was next to dance with him.
He frowned, as they switched he looked down to see Esmerelda.
She lifted her arms up, he rolled his eyes then picked her up to his level and started dancing again.

"This is ridiculous Esmerelda." Legolas said.
She was moving her head back in fourth to the music.
As ignored Legolas, he looked over and saw Livian dancing with a dwarf.
Not just any dwarf, it was Kili.
His eyes widened and he almost dropped Esmerelda.
First Milia with Elrohir, now Livian with Kili? What else could go wrong?

Once again they switched partners and now he was back with Ithilwen.
"This is so fun." she said with joy.
Legolas smiled, and they kept dancing.
Another switch happened, he was back with the red headed elleth.
She smiled at him again and she was the last person Legolas wanted to dance with.
Please help me.
Legolas thought to himself.
They switched and Legolas's partner was now another hobbit.
It wasn't Esmerelda though.
He brought her up to his level, it was Prisca.
"This wasn't my idea of a dance..." Prisca laughed.
Legolas laughed too, "Who did you start dancing with?" Legolas asked.
"I think you already know the answer." Prisca said as she looked over to Frodo who was being held up by an elleth.
Frodo did not seem very happy. Neither did the elleth.
Legolas laughed, "Maybe hobbits should just dance with hobbits." Legolas said as he set Prisca down, she nodded then went to retrieve Frodo. Then Legolas was waiting to switch to his next partner, just when the music stopped.

Legolas was filled with relief.
Everyone stopped dancing and laughed, Legolas saw the red headed elleth walking towards him.
He quickly hid his face and hid behind a group of elves.
She passed and he sighed in relief.
He saw Aragorn talking to different elves, he smiled then saw Legolas.
He came towards him, "I see you had a pleasant time dancing my friend." Aragorn laughed.
"It was fun for my first major dance." Legolas said as he smiled.
Then he looked over and saw the red headed elleth again.
She fanned herself and blinked her eyes at him and he felt sick.
Aragorn looked over and laughed.
"I see you have another admirer."
Legolas rolled his eyes, "Apparently."
