Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, mirror, tell me who I am.

If I don't look like them, they'll never understand.

Mirror, mirror, is it the only way to mend?

I try to get pretty, but I can't.

Mirror, mirror, am I ugly for sure?

Their gossips have made me insecure.

Mirror, mirror, why aren't I enough?

Why do I always end up causing laughs?

Mirror, mirror, trying to delete my flaws,

But every day they point out that there still are tons.

Mirror, mirror, tell me what to do.

I really wanna be as beautiful as you.

I can't believe the girl in the mirror is me.

Maybe I'm just a bit better than who they see.

Author's Note:

No matter what they say, you must feel beautiful. Because you are. It's just that you're a bit different. Change is normal, so is stress. Nobody can label you but yourself.

I wrote the poem "Mirror, Mirror" about those who stress over the way they look because of the pressure they receive from peers. Beauty is something we're born with. I want to encourage people to admire who they are and never underestimate themselves.
