The Poets Who Ran Off

I thought this little world

That we made together

Here in this universe

Would last forever,

But people ran off,

Chasing other things,

Now I'm the only one left

With word-splattered wings.

I hoped we had an infinity

In this paradise,

But as poets started fading,

We met our demise.

Is hiding in the darkness

Really what we're meant to do?

I was hoping we had gathered

Just to stay true.

Now I haven't seen you all here,

Screaming your mind,

You decided it wasn't for you,

You decided to hide.

Now I feel like an outcast,

Like a white crow,

Tell me, what have I got to do

In this ruined world now?

You've all been unfaithful

To what could've been your lives,

A beautiful power,

Weapons stronger than knives.

You were my heroes,

My rivals, my friends...

It's such a pity

That you didn't stay until the end.
