Wayward Angel

Money's pointless when there's nothing you would buy,

Wings are useless when you're too afraid to fly.

So as the abyss in my mind is getting big and wide,

Make all the diamonds, sapphires and rubies hide.

What will happen to me if I manage to fail?

Will nobody ever get to tell my sorrowful tale?

No one knows the cure for my torturous disease.

I'm a wayward angel, blown away by the breeze.

When the night is dark, I think of breaking their rules,

But every time I find myself afraid that they'll be cruel.

So I stay inside my shell with a candle light.

My biggest fear has become getting into a fight.

You can laugh or cry for me, but then, what's your point?

We're all united now, our efforts have been joined.

You have made freedom our enemy while claiming to be setting us free.

I'm a wayward angel, and I notice what the rest can't see.
