We had all awoken to coughing coming from my bedroom.

My head hit the coffee table before I realized I had rolled under it after we all crash for the night in the living room. We had all drunken a little too much wine the night before and I could feel the consequences of the alcohol thumping around my skull. The loud coughing didn't help.

It took me a minute to realize why I couldn't use my legs to correctly, because they were tangled in Deacon's and once I figured that out I had decided that I should sit that one out, rolling back under the table to sleep. Then the cacophony of coughs rang through the air again and there was a chorus of groans behind it. This time I didn't make a move to get up and the longer I stayed awake, the more my brain felt like it was swelling. The room was silent again. I heard Dan's soft snores from the other side of the living room and I once again shut my eyes in hopes of the best sleep ever. Unfortunately, there was the coughing again and this time it was coarser, and closer.

Deacon sprang up, tossing my legs on the floor. I crawled out form under to the coffee table to see Adisa sprinting at full speed to Deacon and held my breath at their impact. My brother held his own as he stopped Adisa. I watched in horror as they grabbed at each other for control. Adisa grasped at Deacon's then wrinkled button-up and Deacon held him back. My body scurried from under the table.

"Adisa! Stop!" I tried to pry him away from Deacon. He glanced at me, his eyes were wide with alarm and filled with grief. His tense body relaxed. In a split second his eyes rolled to the back of his head, and his legs wobbled, no longer able to hold his body up. He collapsed only to be caught by Deacon and I. Adisa's skin was wet with moisture and very hot. We lifted him back onto the bed and Deacon got him another dose of medicine.

"I'm sorry. He must of been super delirious and confused." I closed the door as we left the room.

"It's fine.." He smiled a dazzling set of teeth, "People have done worse in the emergency room." He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and gave me a reassuring squeeze.

Dan greeted us with two cups of black coffee and I sighed at the smell of it. Then I took a sip and let's just say that he put way more than coffee grounds and water. It burned the back of my throat and I coughed before complaining.

"Well we need something to counteract the hangover we have." Dan waggled his finger in my face. Deacon sipped his contently while I pushed mine away.
