The dentist's office was filled with children which is what I expected because we were at the children's clinic. It wasn't free, but ever since Adisa had been sick, I wanted to get him checked out completely.

Little humans dominated the room, outnumbering the adults. Some screamed and some cried even. Adisa joined them, chasing a group around the room as their parents and I stood by watching. Dan sat at a table in the corner reading a magazine while also attending a tea party by a very rambunctious eight year old.

Adisa was great with children. Watching him and imagining him with his own made my heart sigh.

"You are one lucky lady. He must really tire your kid out." A burly woman next to me chuckled.

I was embarrassed for two reasons. The first one being that I didn't want to tell this woman we were at the children's dentist for the large man playing tag with the kids. The second reason was the idea of having a baby Tarzan Junior running around. A part of me was nervous to admit how pleased I felt by her assumption.

So instead of saying anything, I nodded my head like the housewife she probably assumed I was.

The receptionist called my name and I gathered up the boys quickly. She didn't try to cover up her gawking at both Adisa and Dan. Neither seemed to notice as she guided us through the door. The woman went as far as to help Adisa sit in the chair and I nearly rolled my eyes.

"Dr. Birm will be in any moment." The receptionist placed a hand on Adisa's shoulder and left it there longer than I would have liked.

Dr. Birm entered the room in a flurry with paperwork. He frowned, seeing Adisa in the chair. I quickly explained the situation of how Adisa got into my custody. We were there for a multitude of reasons. Getting Adisa checked out was the top priority, but I knew they also were a part of the company that played an integral part of the teeth recognition files for half of the country. There was a slim chance that Adisa would have gotten his teeth done before he went off with apes, but I could only hope that he did to find out who he was.

"That's incredible. Have you gone to the media with this? They could probably help you more than I can." He asked and pushed up his glasses further to his face. I shook my head.

I had thought about it multiple times. Telling the media would bring him all sort of attention. There seemed to be more cons than pros.

"Let me take a look at his teeth and then we can see what can be done." Dr. Birm sat in a stool with wheels and made a move towards Adisa. His tools sat in a sterile platter, but before he touched them, he moved the back of the chair into a position where he could easily access Adisa's mouth.

The doctor cautiously picked up two tools after angling a light onto Tarzan's face. Adisa responded with a growl as Dr. Birm hovered over him with the tools.

"Everything is fine. He's here to help." I placed my hand on the same spot the receptionist had earlier and placed my hand on top of his. His eyes met mine as he opened his mouth just like the doctor instructed.

After a few minutes of analyzing his teeth, the doctor spoke up. "Well, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first?"

Dan and I locked eyes and wordlessly agreed on the bad news.

"Bad news is that he has 11 rotten teeth and a few teeth that didn't even come in all of the way. My guess would be because of missing essential vitamins while growing up." Dr. Birm rubbed a hand over his bald head. "The good news is that as a consequence of one of those teeth not coming in his childhood one stayed."

"And?" Dan voiced the frustration both of us were feeling.

"And it left behind a tooth that had been filled in previously." I wanted to leap with joy. "There's a casing that was only used on children under six under extreme circumstances. The alloy used is no longer permitted anywhere. I can't tell you who he is but I could give you a list of who he might be. It will be only names because it's illegal to give anymore information than that."

Dan gave me a high five and the doctor received one too.

"I'm gonna go ahead and get that list for you then when I get back it'll be time to fill in some teeth."

I could feel Adisa stiffen under my palm. He sat still in the seat and didn't move until the doctor came back in.

The list was thicker than I had expected it to be. There had to be more than twenty pages of names. Thousands of children's names filled the white pages front to back. Dr. Norm saw the face I was making and apologized. "It was the best I could do. He didn't have enough of his childhood teeth for a full composite."

"This is great start actually. Something is better than nothing." I tried to assure the doctor and myself.

The doctor went about the process of fixing Adisa's teeth. Dan left the room, not wanting to see his best friend knocked out by the gas and I stayed with him until the tight grip of his hand loosened.

Two hours later, Dan and I were trying to expertly  carry Adisa out to the cab that was waiting for us. He was awake, just not mobile at that point. The receptionist looked sad to see Adisa leave but I couldn't have cared less. Luckily the large man had gotten conscious enough to crawl inside of the cab.

"Make babies." I couldn't make out what he was saying since his speech was slurred.

"What-"

"Adisa and George make babies." He said it loud enough for the whole car to hear. His eyes sparkled with mischief.
