Chapter 12: J Is For Jealousy

I groaned at the obnoxious noise that woke me up.

Why ... I mentally groaned.

I blinked at my phone that caused all of the commotion. I took a couple more seconds to remember how to use it. My hands fumbled before I finally got a hold of it. Instead of holding it, I slid it in between my head and Adisa's chest.

"Hello.."

"Gia! It's an emergency and I know your on vacation and all, but-" I shot up from my comfortable position, stumbling out into the hall of my apartment.

I didn't need to ask who it was. It was Cosmo, one of the many people that forced me to go on a two month vacation. Cosmo was adorable and handsome, but also a very sensitive man. He wasn't afraid to cry in front of anyone and I respected him for it.

"What happened?" I started to walk down the long hallway.

"I made A HUGE MISTAKE. Becky's yelling at me and I can't take the pressure." He whined.

"What did you do?" I whispered, silently hoping that he was just overreacting.

"The book order..." I gasped. He sounded like he was on the verge of tears. Then he started to rant about how he didn't understand how to order the specified books that were requested and after he put the order in, they called to confirm earlier that day. At that moment he realized his mistake when it was way over budget and he purchased two thousand dollars worth of John Green books.

"I'm on my way, Cosmo. Just calm down and tell Becky I'm coming." He thanked me and told me he'd pay me back.

I entered the apartment to see everyone was up. Dan was cooking slop, and Adisa was pouting in a chair at the table. Adisa's eyes met mine briefly. He was in the process of getting up before he changed his mind and sat back down.

"There's an emergency at the library, so I'm leaving in a couple minutes." Dan nearly dropped his spatula as his eyes grew wide.

"Nonono. Adisa had a fit when you left out of the apartment and you were only gone for ten minutes. It took him thirty seconds to wake me and eight minutes to stop him from breaking down the door." I looked at him incredulously. "Look at the door." Dan went back to cooking whatever it was as I turned on my heel to see the splintered door. The door looked like it would break at the slightest pressure. From the outside, it looked perfectly normal, but then I questioned how it even opened.

"Adisa." I began, but he interrupted me with a growl like he was warning me.

A hour later we were on the street, walking to the library that was a few blocks away. Dan and I were on opposite sides of Adisa. The weather was freezing and with each step we took I started to regret not taking a taxi there.

One good thing was to see in clothes for once. I mean he was sexy without clothing on, but it was something about him in a beanie, one of Dan's old pea-coats, a long sleeve shirt, and Levi's that made me drool. I guess I had a thing for fully dressed men.

I also learned to appreciate the little things as the wild man glared at anyone who walked too close to us. Adisa even growled at a man after he bumped into me, knocking me into Adisa's arms, but who was I to complain. Dan thought it was funny, so he began to hiss at people near us just for the fun of it. I could only shake my head at them and try stifle my giggles.

I kept weird company.

I sighed as a burst of heat swarmed around me. The air still smelled like books and crusty paper with bad water damage. Every thing was the same physically. I relished in it since I probably wouldn't be back for another month and a half.

"Gia! Thank goodness." Cosmo ran into my arms and held my face in his hands after we separated. "I missed you so-"

"We missed you." Becky walking down the the last few stairs with an unusually warm smile on her face.

" Ay wisst you wys too." My mouth found it a little hard to pronounce the words while Cosmo's hands were still squishing on my face. We had a brief group hug and Cosmo left a hand on my lower back as we walked into the back offices.

Cosmo's hand warmed me a little, but I could feel eyes burning holes into the back of my head. There was tinge of guilt. Almost as if just letting Cosmo touch me was a bad thing, but Cosmo was a naturally touchy person. He, himself, didn't notice it sometimes.

"Well we're going to Cosmo's office to fix the book order and you guys can wait in here." I led them to an empty conference room that wasn't too far from where I was going.

Dan just gave me a look that said he could only hold him back for so long.

"Jy moet kalmeer. Hulle is net vriende. "(You need to calm. They are only friends.) Adisa paced the room.

"Hy moet nog steeds nie aan haar raak nie " (He still shouldn't touch her.) His voice was lowered and I sighed, wishing they would just get married already and have wild children running around.I just hope they take Georgia's personality, so I can actually handle them.

"Mense sal haar in die toekoms raak. Raak gewoond daaraan " (People will touch her in the future. Get used to it.) I tried to calm him again.

"Wat as hy haar eis? " (What if he demands her?) His deep baritone faltered for a moment. His voice was filled with worry and care for Georgia.

"Ek is seker hy sal nie. George sal nie net iemand toelaat nie. Sy sou dit nie aan jou doen nie. Sy hou te veel van jou " (I'm sure he won't. George wouldn't just let anyone. She wouldn't do that to you. She likes you too much.)

"Maar hy is van hier af. hy ken haar beter as- " (But he from here. He knows her better than -) He brooded before she interrupted,

" Maar sy hou van jou meer. Ek kan jou vertel ." (But she likes you more. I can tell.) He gave me a stiff nod and took a seat in the chair nearest to the door.

" Jy is reg . sy is myne,"

A/N: HI GALS AND GILS! I've been writing this for the last week and a half. This chapter was gonna be way longer, but I knew it I wrote the other half of the chapter then it would of taken longer , so im turning it into another chapter. I left the last one without a translation, so you guys can look it up, bc im EVIL!

On another note, WE MADE IT TO 50K!!!! I haven't been this proud in a long time and you guys have helped me achieve it. Thanks and I love you guys. So celebrate tonight. Eat some Ice cream, or drink a pop, or poP some bottles for me since I gotta go to work :/
