She stared back at him with large eyes. He tilted his head and she did the same. He tilted his head the other way and she copied. He reached out for her and she sneezed causing him to recoil back.

Rogue was nervous, terrified even. He had no idea what he was supposed to do with the neko child that was dropped off at his doorstep.

"Rogue, does Fro have a new friend?" His exceed asked. Frosch stared eagerly clearly wanting the answer to be yes. Rogue nodded slowly.

"Um...yeah. I guess so. Her name's Y/n."

Y/n was quiet and observant like Rogue. She hadn't been to the guild because he didn't know how Jiemma would react, and he didn't want to take that risk.

"What's wrong Rogue?" Frosch asked noticing the difference in Rogue's mood.

"I need to take a job. Sting keeps bugging me. But I don't know what to do about Y/n."

"Let's take her with us."

"I've thought of that but-" A loud knock on the door cut him off.

"Rogue! It's Sting! Come on, I have a job for us to do." Rogue sighed.

"Guess I have no choice."

As they waited for the train, Sting and Lector would not stop staring at Y/n.

"What?" The neko asked. The two jumped.

"It speaks!"

Y/n crossed her arms frowning. "I'm not an it. I'm a she."

"Rogue, how long have you had her?" Sting asked poorly whispering. Y/n played with Frosch before dragging Lector into whatever game they were playing.

"Almost two years. Why?"

"And you've never told me?"

"I didn't want to bring her to the guild. She didn't need to be around that sort of environment." The conversation ended as the train arrived. The two dragon slayers dreaded what was coming.

The train lurched forward, and so did their stomachs. "Rogue. Rogue. Hey, Rogue. Are you okay? What's wrong?" Y/n asked shaking him not realizing she was making it worse.

"Y-y/n-chan, stop," Lector said. Y/n did.

"Why?"

"They have motion sickness. Every time they get on a vehicle, they get sick." Y/n made an O shape with her mouth. She sat down and swung her feet. An idea came to mind. Y/n got down from her seat and left. She was gone before Lector could stop her. Y/n came back a couple minutes later holding a cup.

"Here, Rogue, drink this." Rogue groaned in response.

"Y/n-chan, I don't think giving him something to drink is the best idea."

"Fro thinks so too."

"It'll make you feel better. Drink it," Y/n pestered completely ignoring Lector and Frosch. Y/n stood up on her seat and put the cup at Rogue's lips.

"Y/n-"

The train bumped. Rogue groaned and Y/n took the opportunity to pour the liquid down his throat while his mouth was open. Rogue started coughing. Lector pulled Y/n back in case he got sick.

"What was that?" Rogue asked in between coughs.

"Ginger tea. Does your stomach feel okay?" Y/n asked.

"Yeah. A little."

"Yay! It worked!"

"Y/n-chan, how'd you know that'd help?" Lector asked still in disbelief that Rogue didn't just hurl back up the drink.

"I've heard something about ginger being used to soothe nausea. I don't know what it is about it but I went and asked for ginger tea."

Rogue picked Y/n up and hugged her. "Thank you." Y/n smiled.

"Then, can we do the same for Sting?" Lector asked. The blonde was practically dead to the world from his motion sickness. Y/n shook her head.

"They don't have anymore. I got the last cup for Rogue."

"You...did..purp-" Sting leaned out the window and threw up. Y/n winced in disgust. She then leaned back on to Rogue's chest. The male stared out the window as he rubbed Y/n by her ear making her purr contently and lean into his touch. It was comforting.

"I never knew how pretty the scenery is while riding the train." Y/n nodded in agreement. For the most part, they rode in silence, except for Sting getting sick and Lector trying to comfort him.

"Rogue..you bastard..why do only I...have to suffer?"

Y/n smiled mischievously. Sting will never know about the package of Ginger she had in her pocket.
