Adam had a special duty that he was taking himself. After gathering Zane and his team that was working with him, he led them down a back trail, away from all the students. Sam had been happy with their performance, on the patrols the last month, and now that Rico was back from his training, he had been given two weeks off, and Mindy even was here, as she was mostly taking the courses remotely.

Quite a few of the students were new, but others were return, and some were very surprised that Zane was now Pack. His position of being just under the security leads didn't surprise anyone, since he was quite dominant.

Reaching a half sunken door hidden in the side of a small hill, Adam turned to them, "This is a pack secret, and needs to be kept that way." Getting their agreement, he used his badge and a numeric code to unlock the door, and let them into the secured room, the door locking behind them.

Turning on the lights, the bunker was a garage, with three LAVs parked in it. There was room for another couple to be parked as well behind each there. At the back, was a maintenance area, and a small office. It was fairly closed in, and the garage door was a heavy hydraulic door that lifted up what was hiding under some grass.

Zane and the others had followed when Adam told them to. It had been a busy month but a good one. The patrols had been going well and they had been ambushed only once. That had been annoying but they had taken down one of the ambushers when they retaliated. It had still left two wolves injured or dead but to come back from that and take another out had been satisfying. They had also managed to get the 'Alert' out, so the pack was alerted, if it had been real, and that was the most important part.

When they walked into the hidden armoury and garage he had looked around and grinned. He didn't know the make or model of the vehicles but they were obviously armored and looked to be some sort of APC. They walked around the vehicles and gave them a good look, "Nice though I hope we don't need them. Not in the mood to get shot at even with paint balls. Orange is better than pink but still..." He figured Adam would get a laugh out of that.

Rico, having just come back from training, couldn't resist twitting Adam slightly, "I am sure they are all legally registered and demilled, right Alpha? I would hate to have to worry about the legality of the vehicles." He even managed to say that in a somewhat obnoxious police voice as well. When Mindy bopped him, he grinned at her.

Adam laughed, "They are even street-legal. They have headlights, turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, and even a licence plate. Without the guns, they have no armament, and they never were milled. We, along with several of our friendly packs, had arranged with a manufacturer to get them made. We have an order for another three, as we seem to be helping other packs as well, now. One of those is equipped as a med-evac, basically an armoured ambulance. It even has the emergency lights for fast evacuation."

"We have these for pack movement under fire, or when we need something that is heavily armoured. I haven't had to use them much, but you will be taught how to drive them. Typically, they are not armed, but we have some guns if needed." He pointed to the weapons locker.

Zane was looking at Rico when he teased Adam and sighed, "Darn disrespectful wolf. I will deal with you later..." He knew that Canadian's didn't have nearly as many weapons as American's. It sounded odd since they had both come from the same country but such was life. As Enforcers, they needed to know about this but they were all so new. He would have expected to have been told once they had been here longer, *Adam, why are you telling us this? Why have you taken such interest in both me and my team? I know it wasn't to try and recruit us but I would like to know.*

*I see much potential in you. I am giving you the experience you need to excel. Have you noticed that many of the experienced enforcers already are asking your opinions on stuff? That is all I am going to say on it, as before you can move forward, you need experience, and time to learn the difference between the theoretical and staged that you see in school, and the real world.* Adam told Zane, giving him a bit of time to think on it, as they explored the vehicles.

"As for why you are being taught now? I prefer to do it before it is needed and you need to learn under fire. I don't have enough that are competent and want to learn to drive them. This is not a requirement, and you don't have to learn how to do it." Adam told them. Turning to Rico, "If you have an armed problem, which would be a first for the local community, I would be willing to have one brought out to keep you and the human police safe. You knowing how to drive it means, we can 'pretend' it was part of the military or RCMP arsenal, and not the Pack's."

He had plans for Zane and his team, and those would take making sure they were trained and had experience to handle the stressors before he brought him in, and pulled out the offers. So far, only Brook knew his plans, and she agreed with him. He wanted some time to let them get some experience, and settle for a bit before even brining it up with the elders.

Right now, they were doing well, and learning how to be third in the line for security. In a few months, Sam and Toby planned on putting him in charge of a shift of Pack Security. They felt he just needed some experience on how they did things first.

But that was a thought another day; today was teaching them about the LAVs and how to work with them. Tomorrow would be the start of their learning to drive them.

Zane had finally gone to Beth's family for a meal. It had been a long time since he had the time to take a couple days to go see them. He was currently relaxing in bed next to her as he thought about it. It had felt rather awkward since he had felt like he had been introduced to her parents. It wasn't true since she was just a friend. It was true that they had made love occasionally but it wasn't anything beyond that. He liked her, enjoyed spending time with her, but she wasn't his mate. Both he and his wolf knew that.

It had been very interesting going there though. The reservation was somewhat primitive compared to the packhouse but they had a good time. While there they had gone on a hunt, as a human, and he had been fairly successful. Much like Josh he had settled on a lever action rifle though for this it had been a 30-30. They had come back with a deer for her family; they had chances for several, but didn't want to be greedy. Zane had also come with a good pile of food to keep from eating them out of house and home.

When they had finally come back from the reservation he had managed to relax. Her family had been so pleased with his helping to save her and it had bothered him. As an Enforcer, it was his job to help and protect. He did his job even if it had hurt to do it. It had been close to five years since he had changed her but once in a blue moon it still hit. Having joined Adam's pack helped but it was still something he had issues with. There had been a few times he had joined Adam and Brook in their bed on his really bad nights; he was glad that all they did in the morning was give him a good hug and take him to breakfast.

Beth rolled over, "Morning Zane, it was nice to finally introduce you to my family. I know it was awkward for you but it meant a great deal to me." She leaned over and kissed him, "My friend and my savior. You saved me and I will keep telling you thanks."

Zane couldn't help but smile when she sat up since neither had clothing on. Her breasts distracted him for a moment before he looked at her, "I know but it is something I am still dealing with. You are one of my best friends, thank you for caring." He decided to distract her by sliding his hands up her side and stroked her breasts. It got him a growl of enjoyment.

They had time, as they weren't expected back till dinner time...
