Chapter 16

I stand up and hug Noah as he walks in.

"Hi nice to meet you." he shakes my mothers hand before taking a seat beside me

"You too. I'm Alice's mom Ann." she smiles, I got my middle name from her

"Noah." he smiles back as the waitress sits our sushi down. She offers Noah something but he denies and gets a dr.Pepper

"You're not hungry?" I ask

"Nah, I ate awhile ago." he replies

We eat our sushi as my mom chatters with Noah.

After it's all gone we leave.

"Would you like to come by for some desert?" my mother asks

"Oh no thanks, I should be going. It was nice meeting you." he shakes her hand and gives me a small smile. I know how badly he wants to hug me but he just nods

"Bye Alice." he puts his hand out before walking away.

I get in the passenger seat

"He is cute Alice!" she turns the car on, I just shrug and look out the window.

We pull into the parking lot where I stay with Emily

I walk into our old room and she is gone.

I collect my belongings and walk into the hall as my mom brings luggage into an apartment across the the hall

"Mom?" I question

"Oh, this is going to be our temporary home! Well I'm only going to be here for a week to get your school stuff situated but this is your new apartment!" she opens the door and I look inside

"My own!?" I walk inside dropping my stuff down

"Yep! I thought it was time for you to get your own since you're gonna be here a while." she smiles beginning to take stuff inside

"Thank you so much mom!" I give her a huge hug.

"Haha you're welcome honey." she hugs back before there's a knock at the door, I rush over and open it.

"Oh thank you!" I say welcoming an attendant inside with the rest of mine and my mothers luggage

I begin to unpack and put away my clothes, it's 10:00 and my mother is out I decide to go to sleep. I have to wake up early to apply for school.

Minutes later I'm asleep






The next morning

I awake as my mother opens the blinds

"What time is it..." I groan

"8.00. School started an hour ago, so the halls shouldn't be too busy."

I slowly get up and shower.

After that I put on my new pair of overall shorts and a Carl Grimes shirt like the one he wears on the show.

I put on a black pair of combat boots and straighten my hair. With a little but of makeup I grab my purse and phone and we leave, arriving at the school at 8:45.

I walk inside.

Hallways are filled with students, most of them don't recognize me, most likely because they don't know who I am yet.

I take a small walk with my mom into the principles office.

A kind lady who is the Vice principle walks up to me

"I'm Mrs. Daughtrey." she shakes my hand aswell as my mothers

"Would you mind me showing your daughter to her main class room and locker?" she asks, my mom accepts and I follow the lady through some halls.

I notice a few girls and boys look at me.

I try and ignore them

"So this would be your locker the key number will be given to you on your first day." she says, I nod. A few kids are getting their lunch bags out.

I walk into my home room and another lady stands hanging some posters up

Mrs. Daughtrey knocks once and the lady turns

"Ms. Anne this is going to be your new student." she introduces me

"Oh how nice to meet you! I'm your home room teacher so you will have me once a day." she smiles.

She looks pretty young, maybe around 25? She has long brown hair, a blue cami on with a pencil skirt. Her eyes are a beautiful dark blue.

"Most teachers are now at lunch so you will have to meet them next week when you come. Do you know anyone that goes here?" Ms.Anne asks

"Yeah, Chandler Riggs I work with him on the walking dead." I say

"Oh so another actress?" she smiles

I nod with a grin.

Then there's a knock, we all turn to look at a young blonde in the doorway.

My mood changes, my smile turns to a frown.

Rachel enters

"Hi Alice." she says, not even with a smile

"Rachel." I give a half smile

"Uhm, I have a question about this weeks homework assignment." she says walking over to the desk.

"Nice Meeting you Alice. Can't wait to have you in our class." Ms.Anne smiles

"What?!" Rachel practically yells

We all look at her

"Rachel, Alice is going to join us next week!" Ms.Anne fakes a smile

I give Rachel an evil smile

"Ugh!" Rachel yells before storming out of the room

"Is everything okay? Is there going to be a problem?" Mrs. Daughtrey asks

"No Ma'm she's just shocked... and happy I'm here!" I grin before taking a step away only to bump into my mom

"Ready sweety?" she looks down at me

"Yep!" I smile. Walking past her and down the hall

I find Chandler goofing off with a few friends

I want to say something, but Rachel follows behind him.

He gives me a big smile.

I smile back and he stops to speak, but Rachel quickly wraps her arm around his

"Come on Chandler time to eat." she gleefully pulls him away.

I watch as he walks to the cafeteria.

My mom joins

"Everything okay?" she asks

"Oh yeah. Just sinking it all in!" I smile, grabbing my purse from her and we leave
