The night passed by in a blur. Sofia was in dilemma, even when her mind was screaming at her to go and tell Salah that she didn't care why he left, that she was perfectly fine and happy with Xander. But that was the case, she was worried about Xander that's why she bothered thinking about it. This was preposterous. Why was she even considering it? She should just ignore Salah like a plague, just like he had done it on their wedding day.

Sofia was sick and exhausted of these farcical tangle of events going on in her life. As she sat there with her family, chatting away happily - she noticed that Xander's mood was not very cheery nor was he saying anything other than a polite smile or a light chuckle at other's jests. She knew something must have occurred between him and Soniya to cause such a downfall in his mood.

The party was over, guests had left the place and only her family was there chatting away in their mansion's lounge area. The drive back from grant hotel to Sofia's house had been quiet but thank God she didn't have to face any awkwardness for Ayla and Salaar were cruising with them. Now as she peeked at him through her  lashes, he seemed tense and looked as if he would be anywhere but. Sofia didn't like the certainty that Xander wanted to leave so early, she still wanted to spend some time with the newly hitched couple.

But if he would sit there with brooding mood then it was better if they just left. She was feeling on edge as to why he didn't confront her about his small talk with Soniya and didn't want to fight over something so trivial but if he kept sulking and being irksome, she might throw a punch or two.

Clenching her hands by her side, Sofia faced her brother and started talking to him. He seemed to be in good mood and Sofia had no desire to absorb her husband's foul mood. Her eyes slowly flicked to the wall clock and as if Xander observed her - which he did - he spoke up,

"We must leave now. It's late and I am sure Sofia has university tomorrow." Great! Throw me under the bus now! She refrained herself from rolling her eyes and smiled pleasantly at him once he was up on his feet.

"Of course! I am tired anyway." She faced her mother and smiled kindly. Her mother nodded and stood up from her seat.

"Yes you should rest. We don't want you to get ill now." She pulled Sofia in an embrace and kissed both of her cheeks. Next her father gave her a short smile and side hugged her. Lastly, Sofia kissed her brother's cheek as well as Ayla, who was profoundly blushing as she stood besides Salaar.

"G'night." She wiggled her fingers at her family as she turned and walked out with Xander.

"Allah Alhafiz." She heard her mother speak. Sofia sighed and walked out to the parking while yawning.

"You look tired." Xander commented. Sofia stopped her itching fingers from rubbing her lids because she didn't want to smudge her mascara.

"Yeah. I am, kinda." It was two in the morning after all. As she sat in the passenger's seat and the car roared to life, she couldn't help but once again think about what happened at the party. Was Xander going to tell her what he had talked about with Soniya? She didn't want to be clingy and nagging but she really wanted to ask, so she chose the safe way to voice her thoughts "Was Soniya alright?"

Xander didn't answer for quite some time making Sofia want to cry in frustration. Why won't he just tell her? Okay she was jealous, she finally admitted that but a jealous Sofia was completely different Sofia.

"Yes." That's it? Sofia ground her teeth and huffed through her nose.

"Xander are you going to tell me what happened between you two or are you gonna keep being extremely annoying?" She sharply accused. She was ill of this now and just wanted to remove these things between them.
