Chapter 6: Nightmare

Emily's POV

"Roar!" Daddy yelled throwing me on the bed.

I laugh as he tucks me in.

"Get some sleep Emily. I love you." He said.

"Love you too Daddy." I replied as he kisses my cheek.

He shuts the door as he leaves. I close my eyes an go to sleep.

I was running through the city to hide. But from what? There's nothing I run from. A building suddenly explodes. I gulp as Metro Man chases my dad.

"MEGAMIND!" He screamed.

My dad was thrown against a building which made me gasp. Metro Man flies to him as my dad tries to get up.

"Say goodnight." Metro Man said loading his laser eyes.

"NO!" I yelled running to dad.

I hug him tight as he hugs me back.

"Who is that?" Metro Man asked.

"My daughter. Leave us alone." My dad growled.

"So she isn't. You don't even look related!" He said grabbing me.

"Dad!" I yelled reaching for him.

Metro Man pulls out a gun as my dad's eyes widen. Tears fall from my eyes.

BOOM!

"DAD!" I scream sitting up on my bed.

I look around to see that I'm still in my room. I wipe my cheek to feel tears. I silently cry as I hug myself.

"Emily!" My dad yelled running in.

He sits next to me and places his hand on my shoulder.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He asked with concern in his voice.

His eyes were full or worry and concern. That made me cry even more. I hug him tight, as if I was gonna lose him. He hugs me back.

"I understand. You had a nightmare." He said.

I nod as my tears fall from my eyes. "I don't want to lose you Daddy. I can't bare the thought of you disappearing right in front of me."

I hear him gasp. I can tell he hated the thought too. He breaks the hug and looks into my eyes.

"Sweetheart, nothing will come between us. Nothing could ever break us apart." He told me.

"Not even Metro Man?"

He seemed curious at my question. "Why would you think that? You know Metro Man would never do that."

"Because in my night he said that you weren't my dad. Then he took me from you and shot you right before my eyes!" I cried.

His eyes widen as he gasp.

"Come here sweetheart," He said motioning me to come here.

I hug him as he wipes my tears away.

"Come stop your crying, it will be alright. Just take my hand *holds Emily's hand* hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you. I will be here don't you cry. For one so small, you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us can't be broken. I will be here don't you cry. Cause you'll be in my heart. Yes, you'll be in my heart. From this day on, now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart, always." He sang.

I was fast asleep but I could still hear him.

"You'll always be my daughter, no matter what people say." He said kissing my cheek.
