Chapter 18: Heading... Home?

'Man, I really love her.' I think to myself before changing, getting a good setup for sleeping and fall asleep in the blink of an eye.

I heard Hiccup say this right as I left the room. Smiling, I went into my own bedroom, where Astrid and Ruff were already dozed off. I grabbed my pjs and went into my bathroom to change.
I quickly finished changing and went back to my room. Nightwing was sleeping outside with the rest of the dragons, so it wasn't terribly crowded in here.
Nightwing knew to tell me if there were any signs of trouble.
I looked out the window, and I saw Nightwing and Toothless cuddling. 'That's adorable..' I thought to myself. I then thought of Hiccup.
I brushed the thought away and climbed into bed, careful to not wake any of the girls. With that, I fell asleep.

I awoke to something licking me. I opened my eyes to see Nightwing on one side, and Toothless on the other.
Dude, wake up. I've been trying to mind-contact you for like, ever.
I grudgingly awoke. "What? I didn't hear you say anything."
Because you blocked us out while you slept.
"Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean to."
Whatever. Let's just get moving. We're supposed to be going home now. Everyone is waiting.
I awoke and got out of bed. 'Goodbye, old home.' I thought to myself.

I got changed and brushed my teeth quickly. After, I put on my armor and walked outside where everyone was waiting.
"Took you long enough" Astrid said.
"Yeah, yeah. Sorry I didn't wake up at 6 like the rest of you." I said, eager to get going.
Astrid laughed. "Anyway, home we go!"
All of us flew off. Everyone was on their dragon, except me.
"Hey, Nightwing. Do you mind if I fly myself back to Berk?"
No, I don't mind. It'll be great to not carry a heavy load for once.
"Hey!" I said, obviously getting offended.
Calm down, I was joking.
"You better have been joking. I'm skinnier than a toothpick. Mostly." I say, admiring my figure before shrugging and turning into my full form.
"Ready to go?" I say.
Yes. Let's catch up with the others.
I nod and take off. We fly at full speed to catch up with them as we were pretty far behind. Once we caught up to them, we fell into pace. I flew next to Hiccup on his right, while Nightwing flew beside me to my right.

It took a while, but we made it home.

When we got there, the whole village looked completely different. There were buildings I've never even seen before; dragons I've never heard of; people I've never seen. It was.. amazing! I flew down and transformed back into my human form. I walked up to the Chief with Hiccup and the others right beside me.

"Cheif! What happened to Berk?" I ask, curious.

"Ah, (Y/n)! Welcome back! Gobber and I decided to spiffy the place up a bit while you guys were gone. We made your house a little bigger, and made a special 'bedroom' for Nightwing; and Toothless, if he ever wanted to stay there. If you don't like it we can make it the way it was, don't worry. We renovated everyone else's houses too, designing them to how you individually are personality wise. Like for Astrid, we've made a personal training area in your basement, and for Fishlegs, a calm, relaxing hot water spring in the back of the house. As for Hiccup, we added a few bookshelves and we made you more sketchbooks for the new information on the dragons you may come across in the future."

The chief told the others how their houses looked, and we all spread out to look at our houses. I ran right for my house, anxious to see what they did to it.
It looked awesome! It had (f/c) walls and (s/f/c) tiles. I checked my room next.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
It's like (f/c) exploded in here!
My bed was in the far right. My desk was in front of the end of the bed, facing out towards the window, with a journal and a few other books on top of it. I had bookshelves on the wall opposite my bed, and a few weapon racks to hold my weapons. I had an armor stand for my armor, and a (f/c) lamp that lit up the whole room. I had to just take in the amount of (f/c) that has taken over my room.
But I'm not complaining.
Man, how much work these did while we were away is truly amazing! Even Nightwing was excited about her new bed. I guess they didn't know that she was now a girl because her bed was a little guy-ish. But hey, she's not complaining. I guess if she likes it I'll keep it. It does look soft... maybe I could get one.

We finish checking out the house and I found that my basement had a ton of dragon items such as fish, extra saddles, reins for when I need them, an invisibility cloak should I need to escape unseen, dragon armor made of screaming death scales for Nightwing, and an amazing set made for me. 'I wasn't aware they could make human armor made from screaming death scales.
I try it on, and it fits perfectly. I look in the mirror and I see that there's a closet behind me.
I take the armor off and set it back on its stand. I walk over to the closet, open the door, and see a hidden flight suit. Only thing was, it's not the same as Hiccup's. The "wings" weren't connected to the wrists like his was. These were full out Night Fury wings. It looked to be controlled by a button that was on the gloves. I put the gloves on, and the wing suit. I click the button, and as I predicted, the wings opened. They didn't even seem robotic though. They seemed like real Night Fury wings. Like they weren't even robot controlled.
I decided to test it. I went out of my house with it, with Nightwing following me incase the suit fails and I plummet to my death.
I press the button, and jump off the cliff. As I'm going down, I hear Hiccup shouting that I had to take it off and transform. I became confused and tried to do as he said, but it was locked onto me. I tried to transform but it didn't work. I gathered all of my strength to shoot a plasma blast, something I never succeeded in my human form. I finally felt the feeling of one forming. I looked towards my suit and let it out. It exploded, and I was knocked unconscious, falling. Falling fast towards the water. Nightwing dashed towards me, but since her tail wasn't locked open, she couldn't get off the ground long enough to catch me.

Hiccup's POV

She wouldn't stop falling towards the water. Since Nightwing's rail wasn't locked, she couldn't catch her without falling herself. I call for Toothless and lock his tail. He dives down, grabbing (y/n) and protecting her with his wings as they fall into the water. I watch them as they surface, Toothless carrying an unconscious (y/n) in his mouth. I rush over to them, and try to get her to wake up. It wasn't working.
I take her to Gothi, and she makes her drink a potion of a sort.
After a minute, she wakes up. She looks around, until her eyes land on me. She smiles, gets up, and slowly walks towards me. When she reaches me, she gives me a hug.
"Thank you for warning me about the dragon suit. I'd've probably died if you didn't walk over here at that moment." She said as she hugged me.
"No problem. I'm just glad you're safe." I say, hugging her back.
We walk back to Nightwing, who was very relieved I was okay. I smile to myself as (y/n) and Nightwing played together and goofing off.
'Just like old times.' I think to myself.
I call Toothless over and plays with Nightwing and (y/n). I walk over to the night Fury suit, which was now torn to shreds. The wings were totally broken, torn apart and shredded. It's once pure black color was now a pure black mixed with mud brown, as mud drenched the suit. I sigh and take it back to my house, where I decided to fix it.
First way of fixing it and making it lighter is by replacing the steel with gronckle iron. Since Hiccup taught me how to do that, I went into Gobber's workshop and did it myself. Gobber didn't mind, of course. He said I could use his workshop at any point as long as I don't touch anything except the materials I needed, which I could do.

I finish the suit and test it out. It seemed to finally work after a bit of tweaking and sewing.
I met up with Hiccup and Toothless a while later.
Toothless and Nightwing decided to go play in the woods somewhere, which we didn't mind.
"Hey! I see you upgraded your suit to be lighter. I like it." He says, eying the suit.
"I did. It works as well!" I say, showing him.
He laughs as I fly around.
We fly together for a bit and plop down onto the ground.
"That was fun. Maybe we could fly more tomorrow but with our dragons. I wanna teach you a few tricks that may come into play later." Hiccup says before putting his suit back together.
I nod and put the suit's wings away.
I miss his cheek. "Goodnight. If you need me, you know where my house is."
He smiles and blushes a little. "You too. Have a good night." He says as he kisses me quickly before walking back to his house.
I smile to myself as I walk home.
'I wonder where Nightwing and Toothless are.' I think. 'I'm sure they're fine. I mean, they're Night Furies. I'm sure they'd contact me if they needed help.
I go into my house and close the door. I change into my pjs and brush my teeth.
"I'm sure they'll return tomorrow." I say to myself.
I turn out the lights and start to fall asleep when.. I heard Toothless scream bloody murder inside my head.
