"It's kinda hard when everyone talked about it. How'd you come back?" He asks.
Everyone talked about my death when I was away? Why?
"I came back right after I died. I stayed on a far away island away from Berk and Dragons Edge. I couldn't let anyone find me." I say.
"Oh. Well, I'm glad you're back. It's been five years." He says, playfully punching my shoulder.
I nod, and Dagur asked what happened to Nightwing.
"I don't wanna talk about it." I say bluntly.
He nods, and asks about the cells next.
"We have cells on the edge?" Heather asks.
I nod. "I built them when I had free time a while ago. They're on the ground of the island, inside a mountain."
"I wanna check this out!" She says.
I nod. I had to check on people there too.
"Let's go." I say, and lead them both to the cells.

We get to the cells in minutes. I told Nightwing that I would be at the cells so she didn't need to worry.
She tiredly told me "okay. Tell your mother I say hi." I could tell she was joking, because I heard a slight laugher inside my hut. I laughed too, and jokingly said okay back.
We got to the cells. The whole time Heather just went on and on about how she wished she could run the cells. I told her she could, and she jumped for joy. I laughed to myself and walked inside. I went to my mother's cage, and saw that she was awake, but looking at something, her back to the cell door. I looked at the photo. It showed myself, my parents, and my little sister in the photo.
'Why didn't I remember my sister earlier?' I thought to myself before walking off to Harald. He was sound asleep, laying on his back. His back was to the ceiling, and he was facing the other side of the room. I scoff and walk away, going back to my hut. I grab some fish for my mother. I cooked it, and when Nightwing smelled fish, she instantly perked up. I laughed and gave her some raw salmon, which was her favorite. She cooed happily and went back to sleep. I went back to the cells, and opened the door to my moms cage. I sighed.
"Mother, are you hungry? You should really eat." I say softly.
She looks up at me, tears threatening to spill.
It was then that I realized what I had done.
I took everything from her.
Her power. Her ability to go anywhere. Her love.
All she had left was her clothes, and the family photo of us. One that was similar to the one I had hanging in my hut.
"I'm not hungry." She said.
Her stomach growled loudly, and went on for a couple seconds.
I sighed sadly. "Mother, please eat. You haven't been wanting to eat in days. Please, eat."
She shook her head.
"You wanted me to rot in this cell. So that's what I'm doing." She said, tears now spilling down her face like a watering can watering plants.
I looked at her, shocked.
I had forgotten that I said that to her.
"Mother, I- I'm so sorry. I was angry. I wanted to protect Nightwing but when it was almost too late, I became enraged. My only question is, why? Why did you try to hurt my dragon?" I asked, almost whispering the last part.
"I did it because father hated her. He's been asking the hybrids in his army to come up with a plan to kill everyone you're close to. Meaning, everyone on Dragons Edge, and a few people on Berk. He wants their dragons gone too, so they can't help them. He knows that a lot of them are trained in ranged and close combat. So he's been thinking of plans to outsmart them, and eventually..." she trailed off.
"Eventually kill them..." I finished for her.
She nodded.
"Please, (y/n), give me enough power so I can at least transform. If he finds out I'm a pure human, he'll kill me too. Please.." She practically begs.
I sigh and make sure Harald is fast asleep. If this goes wrong, I could give him power as well. I first put a spell on the cell my mom was in so that one, my magik won't go outside of the cell and into another human. It'll go out of me, but there will be a "wall" to keep it from going anywhere.
I planned on letting her out as soon as I did this, so I only gave her enough power to turn into her night Fury form. She had no magik in her human form, so she can't set her hand aflame like I could.
She thanked me, and I told her before she left;
"If I find out you're using your new power to hurt those I love, or any innocent person whatsoever, I will take your power away again. Understood?" I said, eyeing her carefully.
She nods, and I could tell she meant it. I let her out, and Astrid walks in just as she's walking out.
"Why'd you let her go?!" She asks me.
"She's my mother, Astrid. I can't let her rot in here. It's not fair."
"But she tried to kill-"
"I know who she tried to kill, Astrid. But her staying in here hurts me a lot more than it hurts her."
She sighed. "Okay. I trust you."
"Good. I told her if she uses her power for hurting innocent people or dragons, I'll take it away again." I say, leaning against the cell entrance with my arms crossed.
"You gave her her power back?!" She shrieks.
I shushed her. "Harald is sleeping. Shush. And yes, I did. But only enough so she can transform to her dragon form. But that's it. No outside magik, no controlling, none of that. Only 'magik' she has is the Night fury's plasma blasts. That's it." I say.
She nods in approval.
We walked out of the cells, and up to the clubhouse, continuing to talk.
We then talked about Shadow's eggs.
I had almost forgot!
"Lets go check on them." I say, and she nods.
I knocked on my sister's door, and she opens it.
"Guys! They hatched!" She shrieks, and we rush in.
I looked at the baby dark furies. They were so adorable! I picked one up and started to pet it.
"Be careful, he doesn't have control over his firepower yet." She warns.
I nod, and was glad I made all of these huts with fireproof wood and materials for the furniture.
I looked at the little guy and saw he was sleeping.
(S/n) looked surprised.
"That one never sleeps.. he's always asking for his mother." She says.
"Well, I do smell like Nightwing, so he might think I'm her." I say, smiling.
She agrees and grabs the Fury from me and lays him in his bed. I understand they need their rest so I leave the hut while Astrid stays.
I walk back to my hut, and see a terrible terror there. He sees me, and flies over to me. He had a note attached to him, so I open it and read it.

Dear Chief of Dragon's Edge,
It's Mala from the Defenders of the Wing. We need your help, along with the other dragon riders in your village. Please, it's urgent.

~Mala

"Everyone, mount up! Mala from the Defenders of the Wing needs help!" I say, and everyone mounts their dragons. I run to my hut and say goodbye to Nightwing, leaving a full bowl of salmon in front of her.
"There's more Salmon in the basket over there, but eat it sparingly, as I don't know when I'm coming home. Stay safe, and yell if you need me." I say, and hug her before leaving.
Stay safe, (y/n).
I nod.
I will.
