"How'd he get out?" She asked, still sleepy.
"I don't know, but just make sure they don't get out, okay?" I say. I look behind her to Shadow, and make a confused look on my face.
"Whys he smiling..?" I say to her, pointing to Shadow.
"I don't know. Let me ask."
She asks, and then she whispers something. I couldn't make out what it was though.
She said he didn't know how he got out. But she'll be sure to double lock her doors. I nodded and went back to my house. I locked my hut, and went back to sleep.

Oh boy.
The morning came slow. It was around 10 when I got up and moving, so I went to the fridge to get myself and Nightwing some salmon. She happily ate it, and I walked outside to see my mother walking towards my hut. I assumed Hiccup or Astrid trusted her enough to let her go. I couldn't argue with them though, I trusted them. So, if they trust her enough to let her go, then I have to trust her enough as well. Luckily, they didn't let Harald out. Rightfully so, he did try to kill my dragon in the worst way possible.
I walked up to her and asked if Hiccup or Astrid let her out.
"Hiccup and Astrid did, yes. But the reason may not be what you were expecting." She says, a worried look on her face.
I was confused. "What was the reasoning?" I asked.
"You." She replied.
I took a moment to take it all in.
Me? They let her out... because of me?! Why?
"If you're wondering 'why you', well the simple answer is your powers. You now have your powers, as well as mine and your fathers. You may seem like you have it under control, but inside, it's tearing you up, isn't it?" she asks, and I nod slightly.
"I know how to control my side of your power, but the other two you'll have to learn on your own."
She said this with sadness. If father was still alive, he'd tell me how to use his side of power. But, I had killed him. Which I guess was a little overboard.. all I had to really do was trap him and then take his power.
Heh.. oops.

"Now. Listen to me. If you don't learn to at least control my side and your side, this power can consume you and do whatever it wants using your body." She said sternly, and I nodded, listening closely.
"Here, let's fly and talk. I don't want anyone else hearing this." She said as she turned into a night Fury and flew up. I did the same.

So. Your power. My mother spoke to my mind. I'll admit, I jumped a little, as I didn't expect her to get right into it so quickly.
What about it? How do I control it? I asked her, still looking at the water.
That's the thing; I can't tell you how to control all of it. I can only tell you how to control my part. She said, sounding a bit sad in her voice.
I nodded, and she started explaining.
My power I believe was stronger than your fathers. Yes, he became the king, but I was a hybrid almost right from birth. I wasn't born with the power, as that's almost impossible to do. I had a Night Fury as well; Vortex. He was bright red with black-grey eyes and black-grey ends on his wings and tail. He was special.
One day, I got into trouble. I found myself in a camp of bandits. Being the small human I was, I couldn't defend myself. So, he came in, and blasted me with his power, and alas, I became a hybrid. He figured: more speed, more strength, more sense of caution, and alert. But my power somehow grew, and instead of it staying stable, I ended up sucking the life out of my dragon, and he then went into my soul. It's rare, but it can happen. And it's terrifying at a young age. To see your dragon practically die before your eyes and not knowing why, then feeling the power inside you increase; it was a lot.
I held onto my power for years. And eventually, I met your father. He was also a hybrid, except he had just been turned in November of last year. His power didn't come from a Night Fury though, but it came from a juvenile Red Death. Which was why he wasn't able to control all of the other hybrids. Every other hybrid had been turned by night furies, and they were the only dragon they listened to willingly. Now, having a husband like him, I knew he wanted control over them. So, he made himself look like a Night Fury hybrid. Forced himself to change his appearance around the others. Then, you came along. Time and time again he'd mention the heir of the throne. His throne. The one who controlled the hybrids. But you never wanted that. The reason why we locked you indoors was because he didn't want you distracted. If you found a dragon--which you did--you'd grow fond of them and not want to kill them all off.
When you stole my power, you stole my dragon as well. That's why you're feeling so uneasy inside. My dragon only knows me, and he has grown fond of my body; and much less yours. He's panicking, because he thinks I'm dead. The part I have inside me is only his foot, which is why I'm still rather strong in hybrid or human form. I want to tell him to calm down; to tell him that I'm fine, but he won't listen. Then again, he was usually stubborn and ignorant.
If you could tell him that I'm fine, that'd be great.
Here, lets land here. I need a water break.

We land on the sea stack, and I turn into a human, processing all I had just learned.
Man I wish father was alive.
"I can tell you're thinking about father." She says, and I nod.
"I just wish I didn't kill him. I could learn more." I said.
"Well, there is one way to learn about that side of you." She said.
I perked up. "Really? How?" I asked.
"His journal." She said, pulling a thick, nearly 1000-page book out of her jacket.
'Where was she hiding that?!' I thought to myself before taking the book cautiously and reading the introduction.
