They always told her to stay away from the forest. They always told her that danger surrounds it, but she never listened.

She never had any problems in the forest except for today and it is one hell of a problem.

You might ask what to do when you face a problem like that?

You Run. And that's what she had done.

She ran and ran for a very long time.

She ran so hard that she could barely breathe.

It was just before sunset when she found a shed in front of her. She grinned and then found a tear running down her face.

When she saw the shed she had to remember her father, he always told her stories about that shed, about the monsters, the ghosts and the creepy stories hidden behind the shed.

She never believed his stories but she never dared to come near the shed.

"Humph, my fear is now my only shelter!" She thought.

She ran towards it, tried to open the door, luckily, it was unlocked and then rushed inside.

She closed the door and sat In front of it, she rested her head on the door and closed her eyes trying to catch her breath.

After a few moments, she opened her eyes and looked in front of her

"What the..?!"

She discovered that she's not inside a shed but but a house.

In front of her there was a table surrounded by three chairs behind it there was a curtain, she looked to her left to find a sofa, a wardrobe and a shelf with some books, to her right there was a sink, a basket, cupboards, an oven and a fridge.

She looked a little to her left and found a bed in one of the corners. Then she remembered that she was sooo tired.

Before she could think twice she found herself on the bed curled between the sheets and nothing was shown from her body. She went fast asleep.

She slept so hard that she couldn't feel the door open.

"Not only was I dumped to this hell hole but I am the sarcasm of all the police station," Rick Curt thought to himself while he was sitting at his desk in Countyville police station.

He was supposed to meet Commissioner James Walker but he was waiting until the commissioner was free to meet him.

"Howdy partner!"

Rick looked in front of him and found a blond guy with blue eyes looking at him

"I'm Martin Jones, your new partner"

"What? I don't want to have a partner"

Martin shook his head "Sorry partner, It's not your choice, it's the commissioner's choice"

"Great!" Rick thought, "Now I am stuck with that idiot"

Rick rested his head in his hands and tried to forget what's happening around him.

"So, why were you transferred?"

Rick looked at him "what do you want from me?"

"Come on partner, be friendly," Martin said going to his desk beside Rick, "We are stuck together now so maybe we should be friends instead of enemies"

Rick rolled his eyes and rested his head in his hands again

When Martin didn't find him responding he repeated his question

"You want to know why I was transferred," Rick said looking into Martin's eyes. He was very angry now, "Fine, I cheated on the commissioner's daughter"

"What? That's all!!"

"Yeah, sorry if it wasn't juicy enough"

"It's not about being juicy but how did anyone accept your transfer"

"Well" he cleared his throat and gave a sigh "the commissioner revealed my fishy business"

"Fishy business!" Martin raised an eyebrow

"I am not an example of a clean cop" Rick cleared his throat again, "I didn't catch all drug dealers, I could let some of them go if they...."

Before continuing the sentence, Rick was punched in the face that knocked him off his chair. When Rick looked at Martin, he was on his feet, breathing very hard and with a look of disgust on his face. Without saying another word, Martin left Rick and went inside an office.

After a few hours, Martin came back again and whistled, "hey, drug dealer," Rick looked at him "get your ass off that chair, there's a murder in the forest"

They went to the car and went straight to the forest.

When they arrived, Rick almost threw up. The body looked disgusting.

"Hey, Rodriguez," Martin said to a man with big black glasses and brown hair who was inspecting the body "tell me everything"

"Well," Rodriguez gave a sigh, "Carlos Schwann, 44 years old, a carpenter. He was stabbed 3 times in the heart and once in the back.

From the wounds, we deduced that he was stabbed by a butcher's knife but the knife is missing"

"Wait, wait," Rick exclaimed, "Did you just say that he was stabbed by a butcher's knife!" he said it with great disgust.

"What drug dealer? You never saw a murder before," Martin smirked

"Don't you guys know that man?" Rick said.

"Yes, we do," Martin said.

"So why don't you look sad for his death?"

"Easy," Rodriguez said, "he was hated by everyone"

"What?"

"Carlos Schwann was a gold digger;" Martin said, "he was ready to sell everyone for a couple of dollars"

They were silent for a while.

"It's good to know that he is rotting in hell, now," Martin whispered with a look of disgust on his face.

They finished all the work at sunset.

They should ride their cars back to the station to finish some paperwork.

"I am not going back," Rick told Martin.

"Seriously, drug dealer," he smirked, "Are you resigning from the first day?"

"No," he said with a fake smile "My house is a few miles away; I am not going back to the office and then come all this way back when I could go home now"

"You can't go home when you want;" Martin said "There is still some paperwork waiting for us"

"You do it," Rick said leaving, "see you tomorrow, partner" Rick winked at Martin and left him muttering something under his breath.

He walked through the forest to his home. He couldn't stop thinking about the jokes. He couldn't understand any of them, it was something about disappearing and being number 5 or 6.

When he reached his home, he opened the door and entered.

He couldn't believe what he saw inside the house!!
