Chapter twenty-two: That White Sand.

10:32am.

I stared at the horizon. The anxiety flooding my veins.

"Deep breaths..." Samantha whispered as she handed me my bouquet. "Are your ready to this?" She said looking at me.

I nodded; The words felt trapped in my mouth.

"Okay, sweetie... Let's go." My dad walked towards me and hooked his arm into my elbow.









It felt like an eternity... The walk. It felt like a walk of shame, almost. Taking those precarious steps. Not wanting to trip, fall or stuff up.






It was like an audition. An audition for your future. You don't want to mess up, if you did, everyone would remember.




The one thing I do remember was that white sand. That white sand that blended so perfectly with my white dress.



But the other thing I do remember was that moment...


The moment he turned around.
