"Edaline. It's been three weeks." Elwin said.

"No, no, no. I refuse to give up on them. I refuse to. I will not lose another daughter and future son. No." Edaline said firmly.

I want to wake up. Fitz transmitted. That was how our telepathic conversations always started.

Maybe we can wake up if we both help each other. I replied.

Let's try. I sent energy to Fitz and he sent energy to me, and together we both attempted to open our eyes. It didn't work.

Dang. Fitz said.

Maybe I could try transmitting to like Elwin or someone? I suggested.

You try Edaline. I'll try Elwin.

I thought of Edaline and all she's done for me, before transmitting.

Mom? MOM? MOM CAN YOU HEAR ME? I transmitted as loud as I could.

"What?" Edaline said, and I heard a crash.

MOM? MOM CAN YOU HEAR ME? I transmitted again.

Sophie? Edaline thought.

MOM! YES! Ha! I wonder if Fitz was successful in transmitting to Elwin.

Fitz is transmitting to Elwin?

Trying to at least. We've both been able to communicate with each other for the past week. I've been like semi conscious for the past two weeks. I could hear the conversations.

Sophie....Bullhorn hasn't moved at all.

We know. Fitz and I think......that maybe we can communicate because we're extremely close to dying.

No, no, no. Sophie please don't think like that.

Mom, we've been trying to wake up for the past week. We've tried everything.

Have you tried inflicting on yourself? Positive emotions?

No. I can try. I'll tell Fitz.

I hope it works.

I do too. I withdrew from her mind.

Any luck with Edaline? Fitz transmitted.

Yes, I contacted her. She suggested that I try inflicting positive emotions. I replied.

Worth a shot. And so I thought of all the happy memories I could and inflicted them on myself, and I could feel myself be lifted out of the state I was in. I opened my eyes, and Elwin gasped.

"Must. Help. Fitz." I said, thinking once again of all the happy memories we shared together and pushing them towards him. His eyes shot open, his eyes a dull shade of teal compared to how they normally were.

"OH THANK GOODNESS!" Edaline yelled, trying to hug me. Elwin shook his head.

"You should let them rest, Edaline." He whispered. I felt a pair of arms sneak around my waist, and Fitz weakly pulled me towards him. Whatever was on the knife had taken it's toll on both of us, clearly. At Edaline's exclamation, Grady, Alden and Della rushed in.

"No hugging or anything. Let them rest." Elwin declared.

"Hey." I said with some difficulty.

"We're back." Fitz said, his voice strained. Elwin handed us both two Bottles of Youth, and we drank them before handing them back to Elwin. Then, our friends came running in.
