Levi has been staying in Crescent for about a week. Palagi akong idinadala rito ni Hank para tulungan siyang maka-recover. They said my presence helps his wolf recover faster. I thought healing him would drain my strength as well but it didn't. In fact, I feel stronger after I cuddle with him in bed.

The logical part of my brain says I shouldn't have let myself lay in bed next to a total stranger, but my soul feels the safest whenever I am with him. When his arms were wrapped around me.

"Ang lalim ng iniisip mo."

Napatingin ako kay Alpha Pierre nang marinig ang kanyang sinabi. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice him coming towards me. Nasa kanilang likod-bahay ako't pinagmamasdan ang luntiang dahon ng mga puno habang malalim ang iniisip.

I flashed a half smile. "May mga bagay lang po akong sinusubukang intindihin."

"Like what, hmm?" he asked in a gentle voice. Like a father wanting his child to open up without fear. 

I stared at him and realized why Hank adores him as much as the others do. He has this fatherly vibe nobody could ever resist. Not only because he's aging like fine wine but because his aura itself shows how gentle he is despite the savage nature of his kind.

Sandali kong pinuno ng hangin ang aking dibdib. "Like how my soul was tied to Levi's wolf. I cannot find any scientific explanation, Alpha Pierre, and maybe I never will."

Ngumiti siya't pinagmasdan ang kakahuyan. "There are a lot of things that Science could never explain no matter how hard humans try to seek for answers, Tracy. What we do know is that when two people are destined to be together, the universe will rearrange itself for them to meet." Humugot siya ng malalim na hininga. "And once they do, the Earth celebrates. The colors become brighter, the wind sings, and the trees dance to the tune of their love . . ." Tumingin siya sa akin. "You will understand someday. With or without scientific explanation backing it up."

Payak na lamang akong ngumiti. "Salamat, Alpha Pierre."

He gently nodded. "Why don't we get inside and check on Levi? Maybe he can finally come home to Astrid. He'd recover faster when he's in his territory."

"Kung gano'n po ay bakit dito siya idinala? Bakit hindi siya idiniretso sa Astrid?"

"Because your pack will worry about him. He didn't want that. Lalo na ngayong may pinagdadaanan ang inner district."

Sumabay ako ng lakad sa kanya. "Pwede ko ho bang malaman kung ano talaga ang nangyari sa hari ng Remorse?"

He sighed. Ang mga mata ay kumislap ng lungkot. "We have no idea either. We just realized that we're no longer linked to King Bjourne."

"And . . . that's bad news?"

"That's right. In a few months, the Worldwide Council of Lycan Faction will have to crown a new King should King Bjourne will not reconnect with us."

"Ano ho ba ang dahilan para mawala ang koneksyon ninyo sa kanya?"

He glanced at me as he held the door. "Either he had to keep his wolf dormant or . . . he died."

Napakurap ako. "What if he's dead?"

Umiling siya. "He's the last pureblooded lycan, Tracy. He can't die like the rest of us unless another pureblood will kill him."

My lips slightly parted. "Pureblooded? I don't understand."

"It means he came from a royal bloodline. The Coulsons are the first lycans in history. They sired the first packs of lycans that flooded the Earth. They were the children of two powerful heavenly guardians who came down on Earth after the great purge. Napahugot siya ng hininga't pekeng ngumiti. "Let's try my wife's lemonade and check on Levi."

Nauna na siyang naglakad patungo sa kusina. Tila ba nais iwasan ang tanong ko.

Luna Yngrid offered me a glass of lemonade. "Levi's physical strength is recovering fast, thanks to you, dear." 

"Physical strength po? What about his wolf?" I asked.

"That will take more time but with your help, his wolf will surely recover fully sooner than it should. Allowing the connection you have with him to fully flourish can help though," sagot niya bago uminom sa kanyang baso.

"Hindi pa ho ba tama ang ginagawa ko?" I'm confused. We're cuddling in bed. Hindi pa ba iyon sapat?

Nagkatinginan ang mag-asawa bago ngumiti sa akin si Alpha Pierre. "You're doing a great job, Tracy. But love-making connects your souls better."

Muntik ko nang mabitiwan ang basong hawak ko. My cheeks burned while the couple tried their best to suppress their grin. 

"I'm . . . I'm sorry." Nailapag ko ang baso bago ko pa iyon mabitiwan. "Love-making po? You mean . . . I have to have sex with him?"

Humugot ng hininga si Luna Yngrid. Tila pinakakalma ang sarili dahil malapit nang matawa sa aking reaksyon.

"Yes, dear. But it's no big deal. You guys are mates. You'll get married soon. Of course, you'll make love."

Muntik na yata akong mapapaypay ng sarili. I never had sex with Rouge because I am saving myself until we get married. Pagkatapos ay malalaman kong kailangan kong makipagtalik kay Levi?

Oh my goodness. Ano ba itong pinasok ko? Alam ba ng pumili sa akin bilang mate niya ang ginagawa nito? I am not in love with him! Is this how things really work in their world?

"T-Thank you for the lemonade but I think I need some more air." Lumunok ako. Pulang-pula ang magkabilang pisngi. "I . . . excuse me po."

Dali-dali akong tumalikod at muling lumabas. Nang kahit paano ay nakalayo sa malaking bahay ay naihilamos ko ang aking mga palad sa aking mukha. Yes, I'm an adult now but I still don't feel comfortable talking about stuff like that!

Pumikit ako't makailang beses na humugot ng malalalim na hininga. I tried so hard to calm myself. Maya-maya ay napamulat ako nang makarinig ng kaluskos. Bumukas ang aking mga mata at pinasadahan ng tingin ang paligid.

Akala ko ay guni-guni ko lamang iyon ngunit nang maaninag ang pigura ng isang lalake sa hindi kalayuan ay halos manlamig ang aking katawan.

I was about to speak when I heard someone growled. Next thing I knew, two huge brown wolves ran out of the house and chased the man wearing a hoodie. Lumabas din ng tahanan sina Luna Yngrid at Alpha Pierre. 

"Tracy, get inside the house!" utos ni Luna Yngrid saka ako hinatak sa aking braso.

Nagwala ang aking dibdib habang sinasabayan ko ang kanyang malalaking hakbang. I looked over my shoulder and saw Alpha Pierre jumped and fully transformed into a large white wolf mid-air. The white wolf ran towards the same direction the other wolves went to. Hindi ko na sila natanaw pa nang maipasok ako ni Luna Yngrid sa loob ng bahay.

"What's going on, Luna?" naguguluhan kong tanong.

She sighed. "May nakalusot na omega. Go to Levi. His wolf will surely try to resurface because it's sensing the enemy. Kahit na anong mangyari, huwag na huwag kang aalis sa tabi niya nang hindi ka mapahamak."

Napakurap na lamang ako't nilunok ang sariling laway. "Si Levi po ba ang pakay?"

She pursed her lips for a moment then breathed in a sharp breath. "Puntahan mo na si Levi at huwag kang aalis sa tabi niya."

Tuluyan niya akong iniwanan upang sundan ang asawa niya at ang dalawang naunang lobo na sumugod sa lalake.

Napatanaw na lamang ako sa direksyong tinahak ni Luna Yngrid habang malakas na kumakabog ang dibdib ko.
