"Those who don't have their chains at home were placed in the cellars like usual. Hank is with the Deltas patrolling the borders. So far, everything's alright and there's nothing to worry about, Alpha," dinig kong sabi ni Baron kay Levi habang pabalik ako mula sa paggawa ng tsaa. 

I walked towards the living room. It's almost sun down. Nakaalis na pati ang mga katulong na nagsisilbi sa tahanan. I wonder why Baron is still here. Hindi ba niya kailangang umuwi at ikadena ang sarili niya?

Tumikhim ako. "Tea?" I offered.

Baron shook his head before he checked his watch. "I'll stay as close as possible in case this wouldn't work."

Tumango si Levi. Nang makaalis si Baron at kami na lamang ang natira sa bahay ay hindi ko na naiwasang magtanong.

"Bakit pagala-gala pa siya? It's almost sun down."

Levi pulled me to sit on his lap. Para akong sinilaban nang tuluyang nakaupo sa kanyang kandungan. The little hairs on my nape stood to its ends while the stupid butterflies in my belly danced to the loud beating of my heart. 

I know he could hear my fast heartbeat right now. Sapat ang munting kurba sa kanyang mga labi para malaman ko iyon. Kung sabagay. What's the point of denying? I willingly offered to stay here with him tonight. I know what could happen, yet I couldn't find any traces of regret in my system. Tila ba handa ako sa kung ano mang maaaring maganap. 

"Mated lycans who can control their cravings to hunt can patrol to make sure we wouldn't have too much casualties." Hinawi niya ang aking buhok patungo sa isang bahagi nang makita niya ang aking peklat. "We don't have to worry about the twins. They're both mated, and they'd already overcame their lust to mindlessly tear someone apart."

Napakurap ako sa narinig. "T-They're both mated? Pati si . . . Baron?"

Marahan siyang tumango. I could feel his body starting to tense. Pati ang paghinga niya ay nagsisimula nang maging matalim. 

"Yeah . . ." He let out a sharp breath. "But his mate ran away . . ."

Ran away? Paano kung bumalik? I've seen him and my friend getting really closer each day. Paano si Tina kung bumalik ang mate ni Baron?

Tumikhim ako. "Levi?"

"Hmm?" Nag-angat siya ng tingin habang unti-unting iniyayakap ang mga braso sa aking baywang. Ang mga talukap ng mata ay tila bumibigat na. 

I threw away my inhibitions and finally straddled him. Sumandal siya sa sofa at pinakatitigan ako sa mga mata. Tila sinusubukang humanap ng senyales ng takot mula sa akin ngunit walang nakita.

"You said mated lycans don't have to chain themselves, right? Technically, you've already marked me. Marka itong nasa leeg ko, hindi ba?"

Marahan siyang tumango. "But I've given you my mark without your consent, and that's the worst thing a lycan could do to his mate. It affected our bond, that's why we're rebuilding it." He placed his hands on my waist. "If I didn't do that, you would've felt the strong mate pull the first time we met. You won't be able to stay away from me because the mate pull will be too strong your chest will ache while you're away."

Napatango ako nang marahan. "I thought I already know a lot about your kind. Looks like I only saw the tip of the ice berg."

He stroked my middle with his thumbs while his eyes were busy staring at the details of my face. "You're easy to teach, luv. You'll understand how our world works in no time."

I flashed a small smile. "Do you think I'd really make a good Luna?"

Humugot siya ng hininga. Ang mga matang nakatitig sa akin ay tila kumislap dala ng paghanga. "Yes . . . and you will surely make a great wife, too."

My heart throbbed. "I will?"

Levi took my hand, shut his eyes, and then kissed me on my wrist as if he worships me. Inilapat niya sa kanyang pisngi ang aking palad saka niya hinaplos ang likod gamit ang kanyang hinlalaki.

"I can bet my life for that . . ." he said as if he's so sure about it.

His eyes sparkled with nothing but admiration and pure devotion towards me. Nananaba ang aking puso. Paano nga namang hindi? He's looking at me as if he will never have the will to live anymore without my presence. 

I never understood how mate connections work because I had very limited knowledge about them, but now that I could see how my mate stares at me as if I hold his life in the palm of my hands, I . . . think I finally realized the importance of the bond we have.

We were made solely for each other, and Levi has no plans of denying  how thankful he is that someone up there decided to tie our fates together . . .

Humugot siya ng hininga. His eyes turned blue as he met my gaze. Naroroon ang pagsamo pati na ang matinding paghanga. Tila may nais siyang sabihin ngunit hindi magawa. Parang nahihiya o . . . inaalala ang pupwede kong maramdaman oras na sabihin niya kung ano ang nasa isip niya.

We started hearing howls from all over the place. Sapat na ang mga ingay upang malaman kong tuluyan nang nanakop ang dilim sa kalangitan. 

"They're in pain . . ." Levi stroked the back of my hand. "They could feel how much my wolf craves to fully connect with you . . ."

I stared at him as I listened to my own heartbeat. Hinahanap ko ang pangamba at pagdadalawang-isip sa aking sarili. I wanted to know if I have any ounce of fear for what's about to happen but I couldn't find any, as if deep down my heart, I know whom I truly belong to. That I no longer have the strength to deny the bond we have.

Humugot ako ng matalim na hininga't tuluyang itinapon ang aking inhibisyon. I leaned to kiss him on his lips, and as soon Levi felt my lips against his, his body tensed and the invisible string connecting our hearts began to burn.

I whimpered as the burning sensation slowly incinerated my rational mind. Kusang gumalaw ang aking mga palad upang haplusin siya. Tila gusto ko siyang maramdaman. Sambahin. Tuluyang tawaging akin. 

Levi breathed in sharply. Namungay ang aming mga mata nang magkatitigan. None of us spoke as we both listened to our heartbeats. Tila sapat ang kabog ng aming mga dibdib upang maintindihan namin ang nais ng bawat isa.

I swallowed the last strand of inhibition in my system when Levi finally laid me down on the couch. Lumalim ang aming mga halik. Bawat hagod ng mga labi sa isa't isa ay nangangakong pareho naming nais kung ano ang magaganap.

"Tracy . . ." he called in a raspy voice while he slid his warm hand inside my shirt. 

I stared at him for a moment before I finally reached for the end of his shirt. Umigting ang kanyang panga at ang asul na mga mata ay lalong tumingkad.

"You know where this is heading," he said, warning me.

I pursed my lips while still staring at him. "Y-Yes, a-and I have no plans to stop you." I pulled his shirt up until I was able to take it off. "I am . . . ready for you to claim me . . . Alpha."
