Chapter 16: Nishiki

I grabbed Nishikis hand shook it. His grip was getting tighter.

"You got a nice grip there don't you Kaneki?"

I made my grip tighter then Nishiki let go of my hand and looked at Hide.

"I think the disk is at my house."

"Really Nishiki?"

"Hey Hide, if you want it that bad. We could go right now to go get it."

"Fine, but we better be quick."

I couldn't let Hide go by himself with Nishiki. Now that I know who he is.

"I should go to."

Hide looked like he didn't know what to say.

"Look Kaneki, you don't have to come. Nishiki and I could find it."

"But you'd find it a lot more faster with three people."

"Kaneki I want you to come, but Nishiki barely knows you. He wouldn't let you in his hou--"

"It's okay Hide. It's not like Kaneki gonna do anything bad." Nishiki said cutting off Hide.

"If you say so." Hide said.

I feel Hide was hiding something.

The three of us began to walk to Nishikis house. He told us it wasn't that far away. I couldn't trust Nishiki after what he did to me and that other ghoul.

"We're getting close now."

We walked a half a mile before we made it to Nishikis house.

"Wow. Feels different." Hide said.

"Wait Hide, you've been here before?"

"Only one time."

Nishiki began to unlock the door and opened it.

"Come on in."

Hide and I walked in and it looked like his dorm room.

"How come you have a dorm room at school when you got a house here?"

"Well Kaneki, I use that room for homework and studying. Sometimes I'll spend the night there."

This felt weird. Nishiki was surprisingly calm around me, and I didn't like it. No wonder he was able to hide among humans. He was good at hiding his emotions and everything.

"Alright. Let's find that disk!" Hide shouted.

We all began to find the disk Hide was looking for in Nishikis room. We were searching through piles of paper and boxes, but I couldn't stay focused. My mind just kept focusing on Nishiki, and what he did.

"Here it is Hide." Nishiki said showing Hide the disk.

"That's great!"

Nishiki tossed the disk towards Hide. Then Hide stood up.

"Well, we found what we were looking for. Thanks Nishiki. Let's go Kaneki."

"Alright." I said while getting up.

As hide and I were at the door Nishiki said something,

"Actually Hide, can you go wait outside for a while. I want to talk with Kaneki."

Hide turned to me, then back Nishiki.

"Actually, I think we're gon--"

"It's okay Hide... I'll talk to him for a little while."

Hide looked at with concern.

"Are you sure Kaneki? You two just met."

"Yeah, I'm sure Hide."
