In one out of many times of playing Minecraft online, we start playing with Jake, one of Brady and I's friends. Brady and I had known Jake since Brady was six and I was seven. Of course, Brady and I hadn't even known each other. But at this time, Brady and Jake were best friends, I don't know if they are anymore, but any time they played, they invited me to join Jake's world in Minecraft. After we were all talking and laughing and all that stuff, Jake suddenly stops talking. Neither Brady or I paid any attention, we were all sort of used to that, people had lives. But fifteen minutes pass, I ask Brady, "where did Jake go?"
"Don't know, probably doing something," He replies. Jake still hasn't returned and an hour passes. "I'm gonna get off, I'll see you on Monday, okay?" He says. Monday and Thursday was PE, the only days in a week we saw each other in person. "Okay." I say, growing bored already. Without Jake, I was okay, but without Brady I was lonely and there was no point to being online anymore. But before I can turn my Xbox 360 off, Jake's mic starts to make noises. "Jake?" I ask.
"Did Brady leave?" He asks. I nod.
"Yeah."
"Wanna still play?" He asks.
"Sure." I'm not as enthusiastic about playing without Brady, but I'm bored, so I accept his request to join the world. It's the same world and I spawn in Brady's house. Earlier, when he was on, he created me a little bed in the corner with a sign that read, "Maddie's Bed" that was where I slept during the night. But Jake, for some extremely weird reason, sets the house on fire and we're on survival mode. "Well, I guess you'll have to sleep in my house." He says. I don't hate Jake and I don't mind sleeping in his house in Minecraft, we're pretty good friends, but I am mad about him torching Brady and "I's" house. "No, I don't. Just don't save the game." I say.
"I can't, because I haven't saved the game at all." He says. "At all? What about auto save?"
"It's not on." Who turns off auto save in Minecraft? God knows I never just tell myself, "Oh! Better save or this'll all be gone!" I always turn auto save on.
"Just sleep here." He says. I groan, not internally. I groan really loud, like I'm annoyed. I make it to his huge mansion house. It's ugly, I'll admit. It's four wooden planks high, and extremely wide, very high off the ground too. It has a balcony of about two planks and a fence to guard it and a huge stair case leading down. No windows at all. I bring my two wolves who of course, I name one "Brady" and the other "Wheatley." I'm also in love with Portal 2. I look around and see-of course- two of the regular Minecraft beds pushed together. My naive mind is confused. I didn't want to egg on his weird bed placing. "Where's mine?" I ask. Without asking where my 'what' was, he immediately knew. "Oh, right here." He says, appearing next to the bed I don't want to be mine. "Why?" I ask.
"I don't know." He says. I walkover and take it, placing it at the other side of the room. I don't say anything during this. We both go to sleep in the game and I wake up to-you guessed it. His bed right next to mine. Brady gets on after that and Jake invites him to the game. Jake starts saying something about the bed thing and Brady's getting sort of annoyed because he's talking about it so much. Now, don't get the idea that Brady is mad about the bed thing, he's mad about the fact that Jake and I were still online while he was off. He's also mad that his house was burned down. "What happened to my house?" He asks. I keep silent.
"It burned down." Jake bluntly says.
"And you didn't save it?"
"I forgot." Jake says. Brady lets out a sigh of agitation and doesn't reply for a good ten minutes while he makes his house again. He adds the little corner for my dogs and I. Jake gets off, meaning we were kicked out of Minecraft. "Maddie?"
"Yeah?"
"Do-do you like him?"
"Like who?"
"Jake."
"Why would I like Jake?"
"I don't know."
"I like you. No one else."
"I only like you too." And we both got off.
