Chapter 2: The Rescue

A/N: YAY! I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO BOLD THE LETTERS! AND SLANT THEM! XD

Third Person's POV

You woke up to hearing someone yelling. It was a voice that you had never heard before, so you were confused. You groaned and slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. You looked around and your eyes widened.

You noticed that you were in a cage. Outside of the cage was a big, round, tall man, yelling at what looked like to be robots. One had blue features while the other had yellow. You tilted your head in confusion.

Something out of the corner of your eye caught your attention. Looking down at your hand, you noticed that it was way bigger than your leg. Your leg... Which was red. (Sorry if you wanted a different color XD)

You gasped and looked at your other leg, seeing that it was the same color. You grabbed a piece of your hair, which was also the same color, and the tips were black. You started looking around yourself, seeing that you were in a pair of jeans that were so ripped, they looked like shorts, and you had a dusty pair of black sneakers. You felt around your upper body, and looked down, seeing that you were also in a black jacket, which sleeves were ripped up to your elbows, and a (F/C) T-shirt that was ripped, showing off your stomach.

'Wow.. what happened to me?'

Apparently, the fat man noticed that you were awake, and stopped yelling at the robots, walking over to you. You scooted back against the other side of the big cage.

"Ah," he grinned, "You're awake! Now, since Bocoe and Decoe messed up with the experiment, I'm going to have to get rid of you. That is, unless, you can obey my commands."

You tilted your head to the side again. 'Obey? Commands? What is this weirdo talking about,' you thought to yourself.

"Now, if you don't want to die, I suggest you follow my orders," he continued, "My name is Dr. Robotnik, and my objective is to get rid of my pesky arch-nemesis, Sonic the Hedgehog!" He then let out an annoying laugh.

You sighed, then spoke in a hoarse voice, "Wh-where am I..? Who am I...? Why am I here..?"

One of the robots, the blue one, came up to the cage with a clipboard in his hand, "Your name is miss (Y/N) the Hedgehog. Your mission is to destroy Sonic."

"... Hedgehog?"

He nodded. Then, the other robot came up to the cage, holding a mirror out to you. You grabbed the mirror, and when you saw your reflection, your eyes widened and you gasped.

What was looking back at you was a red hedgehog with a (S/C) muzzle, Long, thick eyelashes, (H/L) hair, two ears on the top of your head, and round, (E/C) eyes.

You giggled a bit, "I look pretty.."

Dr. Robotnik raised an eyebrow, "Do you remember anything that happened before your awakening?"

You shook your head, handing the mirror back to the yellow robot.

The doctor smiled, "Great! Now, your objective was to exterminate Sonic the Hedgehog."

'Exterminate?'

".. Sir, what does exterminate mean?"

He sighed, "Kill."

You glared at him. "... Sorry, mister, but I'm not gonna kill anyone."

"... Fine! Then I'll just have to kill you, then!"

Your glare quickly shifted to fear. You didn't wanna die! You just woke up! You watched in horror as the doctor made his way over to a big switch. He quickly put on a gas mask before he pulled the switch down, laughing his evil laugh.

Your cage started to emit smoke. After a minute, you started coughing and wheezing.

After a few more minutes of this action, you slowly started to lose consciousness.

Right as you began to close your eyes, there was a loud smashing noise. Your eyes shot fully back open, trying to see what was going on through all the smoke. Then, you yelped when there was a small, orange fox that started picking away at the lock on the cage with a toothpick. After a few seconds, he took the lock off and the door swung open. The fox's eyes widened.

Then he yelled, "Sonic! Over here!"

You were still coughing up a storm while hearing the doctor yelling meaningless words. Then, you jumped when another figure appeared through the smoke.

It appeared to be an azure hedgehog with a smile on his face. It was more like an 'I'm ready for action' smile. Then he quickly said, "Come on! let's get you out of here!" Before picking you up bridal style and jumping out of a 13-story window. You screamed bloody murder while the other hedgehog was laughing the whole way down. Then, as you were about to hit the ground, you squeezed your eyes closed tightly, still emitting coughs.

You readied yourself for the pain that never came. When you realized you didn't feel anything, you slowly opened your eyes, and looked at the ground, seeing that you were floating a foot off of it. You slowly looked back at the other hedgehog, who had one hand holding you while the other had grabbed onto the Fox's hands, his two tails spinning around in the air.

He slowly set you both down on the ground, and you wobbled for a few seconds. Still letting out coughs, you took deep breaths, taking in the fresh air. After you fully stopped coughing, you looked over at the hedgehog and the fox, who was no longer flying.

The azure hedgehog pumped his fists in the air. "Woohoo!! That was amazing!!" The fox agreed and chuckled.

You just continued to look at them, letting everything process through your head. They both looked over at you, smiling.

Then, the hedgehog spoke, "Hello! Are you okay? Your clothes look pretty shredded!"

You nodded, "Y-Yes, I'm okay.."

He tilted his head to the side, "What were you doing in Egghead's base? I haven't seen you around before!"

"Egghead?" You giggled softly at his comment. 'He did look like an egg', you thought to yourself.

"W-Well... actually, I don't remember.. I just know that I woke up, and I was here.."

"Oh, I see! So, you lost your memory, huh.. Do you remember your name, at least?"

You had to think for a moment before nodding, "Yes, I think so.. My name is (Y/N).."

He smiled again, "Great! We're off to a great start! I'm Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog! And this is my best friend, Tails!" He pointed to the fox standing next to him. Tails waved, "Nice to meet you, (Y/N)!"

You smiled back, "You too." 'Hey! This is the hedgehog the doctor wanted me to kill! No way, he's too nice!'

Sonic then suggested, "Would you like to stay with us until we get your memory back?"

You hesitantly nodded, "Yes, please.. But, where do you live?"

Tails stretched his arms out, "A big mansion! We live with our friend, Chris! He'll welcome you with open arms, I guarantee it!"

You giggled and relaxed, "Thank you both for saving me...!"

They both chuckled and gave you a thumbs up, beginning to walk off with you following close behind them.
