Chapter 3: Chris and Amy

Your POV

From where the Doctor's base was from wherever Sonic was taking me seemed to take forever to get to. As we walked, I accidentally groaned quietly out loud. Sonic and Tails turned to stop and look at me. They both chuckled.

"Are you getting tired already," Sonic asked.

No, duh. I was just cooped up in a stuffy lair, suffocating on poisonous gas, then you ask me if I'm tired?

Instead of being mean and saying all of that, I just nodded slightly. Sonic held out a hand to me, causing me to look at him with confusion.

He smiled. "Ready to go fast?"

I was still a bit confused, but I hesitantly took his hand.

As soon as my hand met his gloved one, within a blink of an eye, he flung me onto his back, causing me to gasp in surprise. I had to part his quills a bit to see ahead, and he pushed me up more on his back by my legs. Tails giggled, starting up his two tails and floating almost a foot off the ground.

"You might want to hang on, (Y/N)!"

I was wondering why I needed to hang on so tightly, but I obeyed anyway.

How fast could you possibly be going that involves me having to--

Not even a second later, I couldn't even finish my thought process before Sonic just...bolted!

He was literally running faster than speed itself! Tails somehow caught up shortly behind, his tails spinning at an unimaginable speed. I had the nerve to open my eyes, seeing the world around me move so fast that I could barely see. I had my arms and legs wrapped around his neck and sides, I was surprised that I wasn't suffocating him.

(Get it? Sonic characters don't have necks. XD I'll stop..)

I closed my eyes again and buried my face in his quills. I guess it felt sort of nice, feeling my red and black hair/quills whip around in the wind. About 30 seconds later, he came to an abrupt stop, screeching his shoes on the ground with a cloud of dust trailing behind him. When I was sure that he stopped, I opened my eyes again, looking around.

What I saw was something I've never seen before. It was a super big house. Like, BIG house. It had a pretty fountain thing in the center, the long driveway lined with multiple pine trees. It looked like a paradise!

I got off of Sonic's back, standing on the glittery concrete beneath me.

"..Wow.."

Sonic smiled, "You like it?"

I nodded, beaming happily. "So, is it just you, Tails and Chris that lives here?"

"Well," Tails protested, "Not exactly! It's us, and..a few other friends!"

I tilted my head to the side. Exactly how many is a few?

They both began walking to the enormous paradise with me following nervously behind them.

Sonic opened the door, making me flinch by yelling, "Chris! Everyone! We're home!"

Suddenly, a kid, that appeared to be..not..a hedgehog, came running down the big stairs with a smile plastered on his face. I quickly hid behind Sonic before the creature could see me.

Oh, so this was Chris..

"Hey, Sonic! Did you get any luck on the chaos emeralds?"

"Nope! But we found something better!"

The thing tilted his head to the side, smile slightly faded. "You did? Where is it?"

Sonic quickly moved out of the way, to where I was now completely visible. I gasped, flushing out of embarrassment. The creature's jaw dropped. Then he put on a bigger smile than the one he had plastered on earlier.

"Oh! You found another one of your friends!"

"Actually, I've never seen her before!"

"Really?"

"Yup! She said she lost her memory, and the last thing she remembers is waking up in Eggman's lair! I don't think she has anywhere else to go right now! So, can she stay until we help her regain her memory?"

The thing smiled excitedly, "Of course! I hope we get to be friends! My name is Chris!" He held out his hand to me. I hesitantly shook it, smiling a nervous, crooked smile.

"I'm (Y/N)..N-Nice to meet you, Chris..."

I looked at Sonic for a few seconds, then I looked back at Chris.

"Um..if you..don't mind me asking..what...what are you, exactly..?"

Chris chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "I'm a human!"

A human, huh..

As if things couldn't get more confusing, I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard a very, loud, high-pitched screech.

"SOOONIIIIICCC!!!!"

I turned to look at Sonic, only to see a pink hedgehog, tackling him in a hug. He didn't seem to enjoy it much, though.

"Oh! H-hey, Amy!"

She squealed, "Where have you been? You almost missed Ella's pumpkin pie!" She finally get go of him.

I don't even know her, and already I don't like her that much..

"Ella made pumpkin pie?"

"Yeah! And she's cooking dinner now!"

You know what's funny? I have no clue what's going on, and this girl still hasn't recognized my exis-

"-Oh! Hello!" She looked over at me, walking and standing in front of me. I panicked a bit inside.

"What's your name? Where'd ya come from? I've never seen you before!"

"...M-My name..is (Y/N)..and I don't know where I came from.."

She gave me a confused look, then looked over at Sonic, waiting for an explanation. Sonic just shrugged.

"We were looking for the chaos emeralds and ended up finding her in a cage, in Eggman's lair. She doesn't have any memory of who she is, though!"

She nodded in understanding. "Ah, I see! Well, my name's Amy Rose! Just call me Amy! Nice to meet you, (Y/N)!" She also held her hand out, and I hesitantly shook it.

"Ella's making dinner! Ooh! Cream and I could help you get cleaned up!"

Ella? Cream? I'm so confused..

But I nodded anyway, knowing that I could use a bath and a change of clothes. Sonic, Tails, and Chris smiled at me.

Then, in unison, they whisper-yelled, "Good luck, (Y/N)!" As Amy pulled me away by the hand and up the big stairs.
