Lance nervously tapped his fingers on the table looking into the mirror
"Ok Lance you can do this. You've been practicing all month for this." He reassured himself. Today was the first act of the summer and if they didn't make a great impression then the rest of the summer they would be "dry of money" as his mom would say.
He took deep breaths, then he did his stretches, getting ready to go out.

Keith waited in line, his (adoptive) mother smiling brightly. She had bugged him to come to the first act of the summer of the McClain family circus. She had went on about how famous they are and how amazing the whole family is. But the part that intrigued Keith was that they only have one son named Lance who apparently is Keith's age and will go to school with Keith after the summer. They finally got their tickets and went inside going to the front row, because Keith's mom was very persistent about this. Keith sighed as more people crowded in for the first act.
First there was the ring master, then the animals, a few other small acts. All the circus people were girls, he hadn't seen a boy do anything yet. Soon he got impatient and his mom looked at him giddily
"I knew you would love it!"
He sighed and shook his head
"I thought there was supposed to be a boy" he said honestly. His mom smiled
"Now Keith, I know your gay but there's no need to be eager"
Keith turned red and glared at her
"MOM!"
That's when the lights cut and a loud voice came over the speaker
"Now presenting the all famous Lance McClain....
