This was one day Kathryn never wanted anybody to remember, but thanks to Lydia everyone knew. It was Lydias birthday. And it was Kathryn's birthday.

Kathryn sat up, looking around the room before remembering last night.

Stiles and Kathryn stayed up until 5 am, watching Star Wars. Kathryn wanted to watch a crappy horror film, they always brightened her mood. But since Kathryn had never seen Star Wars Stiles practically forced her to watch.

Kathryn looked at the clock in the side of the room. Noon.

Kathryn grumbled, putting her face back into the warm pillow.

"Morning Kathryn" Sheriff Stilinski said from the doorway. Kathryn felt like second daughter to him and she kind of saw him as a fatherly figure so he didn't mind her being there at all.

"Morning Noah" Kathryn grumbled. He chuckled a little, sipping his coffee and walking off. Kathryn sat up, realising she'd just been caught in Stiles' bed.

"Happy birthday!" Stiles burst into the room, a small envelope in his hand.

"Don't remind me" Kathryn grumbled, scooting over to let Stiles sit on the side of the bed. He looked at her with the most love anyone had ever seen, fiddling with the envelope flap before handing it to her. The envelope was quite chunky so she knew there was something in it.

Kathryn opened the envelope and took out a card. It was one of those stupid darth vader birthday cards that said 'i find your lack of youth disturbing'. Kathryn giggled at the stupid joke and opened the card to see Stiles' perfectly messy handwriting.

Happy birthday Kat

Love, Stiles

The tiny message made Kathryn's heart skip a beat. She closed the card and took a small wooden box from the envelope. She looked to Stiles who looked giddy yet nervous and then opened the box. There sat the most beautiful diamond ring she had ever seen.

How could Stiles even afford this?

"Oh my god, Stiles" Kathryn took the ring from the box, checking it out. It was real.

"Do you like it? You can return it. I wasn't sure what to get you exactly..."Stiles rambled on but Kathryn was too fixated on figuring out the price of the ring, juding by it's size and gold rim it was defnitely around $150.

"I love it" Kathryn whispered. Stiles let out a sigh of relief, smiling involuntarily as he watched Kathryn slide it on her right pointer finger.

"Thank you" Kathryn looked up to Stiles before pulling him into the tightest hug she could muster.

Maybe something good would come of her birthday.

Kathryn managed to get Stiles off of her tail while she got ready for the party, heading straight to Lydia's to get her makeup done.

She had gotten the majority of her hair cut, it was still as wavy just down to the end of her neck.

"Is that a diamond ring?" Allison asked as she was one of the first people to arrive. Kathryn knew it was going to be hard to get people to come after the whole ' wandering the woods naked' incident.

"Yeah....from Stiles" Kathryn admired it again before looking up to meet Allison's bulging eyes.

"He got you a diamond ring?!" Allison exclaimed, walking over and admiring the ring for herself.

"Oh my god, it's beautiful" Allison said, running her finger over the diamonds on the ring.

Kathryn looked over to her best friend, wandering around the pool, with a tray of glasses.
