Chapter 12: Truth or Dare?

I was currently sitting and watching the Shadow people from across the table. I knew that Jason and everyone else was keeping their eyes on them.. it doesn't matter if you have a royal seal.. we just have to make sure that they are not a threat to the Fire pack and of course Christina. 

They were currently busy chatting to each other about what was going on and who did who, and also stuffing their faces with sweets that Christina had made for us. 

My wolf growled in disapproval. How did she know them? It was impossible to know the top fighters for the council. They were currently invisible to our eyes. That was how good they were at their job at protecting our kind.

Christina still made no appearance yet, but she needs to rest more because of her condition. I looked away from them and stared outside the doors. 

I was currently watching mates walking together with their pups and having a real lovely moment. 

But I would never get a chance with Christina.. Shaking the negative thought away, I turned and face them once more. I was shocked, seeing as the leader, Ryder was staring at me his eyes were emotionless. 

We just stared at each other until he decided to break it. 

"So.. your the douche who broke Chrissie-bears heart huh?" He said, I could see that he was trying to contain his anger seeing as he had clenched fists at the moment. 

As soon as he said that, everyone of the Shadows all turned their piercing gazes at me and was expecting for my answer.

I opened my mouth to answer back towards him, but was interrupted when Christina walked in and decided to answer it for me... for both of us.

"He did break my heart.. but he isn't a douche anymore.. so don't say bad words out loud.. What if the children walk in and heard you say those words.." She scolded Ryder.

I couldn't help my wolf and i to feel proud and pride for our mate. She had the most purest heart out of all of us. And sadly.. it was coming to an end..

Why did the Moon Goddess pick her to get sick.. is this our punishment? I kept thinking that over and over again. But got out of my very own thoughts when i felt Christina staring at me.

I looked up and saw that she had a small smile on her lips before she walked over to Miranda and sat beside her.

I was still frozen that she smiled only at ME.. ME!! My wolf was jumping and running around in happiness at her simple gesture to us.. It gave us a little bit of hope that she and i will be one.

I looked down at my empty plate with a smile. I could imagine all of the amazing things that we could do together.

It was already in the afternoon, I and my friends walked inside the living room to find Ryder and the Shadow people surrounding Christina as Jason and the others, tried to pry them away from her.

But I couldn't help but wonder how she always smiled at them like she did with Jason and the entire pack. It was like they were her family.. or really close friends.

I have an urge to find out about their relations.

So we all walked in there.. very cautiously. And let me tell you it kind of made us look like retards but hey.. I don't care.. If it concerns with my mate..then it concerns me as well.

I plopped down on the ground as the others took suit. Ryder and Jason turned their attention to Ian and I. Jason's eyebrows raising up in question, while Ryder's was amused.
