Chapter 48: Rain Lee

Rain's POV.

I was busy signing those paper work's in my table when my phone rings.

I get it and tapped the answer button without looking the caller. Siguro ang mga business man din na gusto magkaroon ng partnership with my company.

"Hello? I'm sorry but I don't..." naputol ang sasabihin ko dahil isang familiar na boses ang narinig ko.

"Sir?" It's my private investigator --- Jeniffer.

"Yes? Any information?" I asked her. She's my private investigator for almost 3 years. I hired her to find Athena. When we already found out where she is, I decided to keep an eye on her. So I asked Jeniffer to look Athena. Wherever she goes or whatever she do, it must be reported to me.

Why do I do that? For only one reason, I love her. That's the reason.

Well, let me say that it started when we are in highschool. How did it happen? It just happen. I mean, it happen suddenly.

It happens this way...

*Flashback...*

First day of my school as a highschool student. I was a grade 7. I am nerd type back then. Payat pa ako nun.

I came from a wealthy family. Anak ako sa labas ng isang governor pero hindi halata sakin. Mabait si dad and ang legal wife niya. Pinag-aral ako sa isang kilalang high school. They even treated me as their real son. Gusto kasi nila magka-anak ng lalaki but still they are not lucky to have one. They have two kids and all of them are girls. They treated me as their kuya though.

Dahil sa kapayatan ko, every student of our school bullied me. One time when I arrived at school, I saw Athena reading a book. I don't know what it is

I bet she's a bookworm. She's pretty I can say. She's my ideal woman. She's simple but elegant in my eyes. Maybe this is what they called true love? I don't know.

I plan to go to her but there's three boys blocked my way. They grab my collar and even get my things. They throw it away my bag while me they are still holding me. Nasasakal na ako pero hindi ko kayang lumaban. Sa payat kong ito?

One of the boys punch me on my face. Ang lakas ng impact nito sakin na naging paghagis ko sa sahig. I saw that Athena noticed it. Nakakahiya man kasi lalaki ako pero hindi ako lumaban. I just don't want to start a fight.

Nung itatayo sana ako ng isa pang lalaki, nagulat na lang ako na hinampas siya ni Athena ng libro na hawak niya. Medyo makapal ang libro niya kaya nahilo ito.

"Hoy kayo! Kung wala kayong magawa sa buhay niyo mabuti na lang na mag-aral kayo. Sayang ang binabayad ng mga magulang niyo. Psh," sigaw nito.

"What did you say? Hindi mo ba alam na anak siya sa labas? Ha?  So that's mean half breed lang siya. At hindi siya bagay dito. Pwe!" Sigaw pabalik ng sumuntok na lalaki sa akin.

"Eh ano naman kung half breed siya? Kayo ba nagpapa-aral sakanya? Tsk! Porket totoo kayong anak ng mga magulang niyo eh gaganyanin niyo na ang ibang tao? Ang sasama niyo talaga. Maulit pa ito at makakatikim kayo sakin," she strongly said.

"Tara na nga!"

"Pwe!"

"Lintek!" Sigaw nila.

Akala ko aalis siya agad but then she help me to stand up. They way she look at me, I can feel that she pity me and I hate it.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yes. Thank you for helping me,"  I said whole heartedly.

"Ano ka ba wala yun. By the way, I'm Angel Athena," she introduced herself and she offer her hand to shake hands.

"Rain." I said and accept her hand. It was so soft.

From then we became friends. I decided to change. Summer vacation, I plan to build my body. I go to gym everyday. Eat my proper meals. Sabi ko kasi sa sarili ko na ako na ang magtatanggol sakanya kapag may nang away din sakanya.

Nagawa ko naman yun when I was Grade 8. But nung grade 9 kami, everything changed. Naging campus hearthrob ako ng school namin. Pinag-pair up kami ng mga students ng campus crush na si Cheska. I admit that she's pretty but because of her make up. She has no appeal to me.

One time, I have a chance to talk to her. Dinala ko siya sa cafeteria ng school namin. All eyes are on us. But I said, it's fine to her.

I can sense that being with me, she feel awkward and uncomfortable. That's the reason why I said to her that we cannot be friends anymore. Masakit man isipin but I have to let her go for her to be happy.

Until naging usap usapan sa school namin na nililigawan ko si Cheska. And yes, it's true. Gusto ko lang malimutan ang nararamdaman ko kay Athena.

February 14 nang sagutin ako ni Cheska. I thought masaya ako kasi sinagot ako ng campus crush namin but I'm wrong. Si Athena pa rin talaga.

Ilang months naging kami ni Cheska but f*ck! My heart keeps on looking for Athena. So I decided to break with her. I don't want to be unfair in her side. Pinuntahan ko si Athena sa bahay nila but I'm too late.

They migrated somewhere. Malayo saakin. Even her bestfriends didn't know kung nasaan na siya.

I keep on looking her. Hindi ako huminto sa paghahanap sakanya until my dad chose me para maipamana ang company nila.

Until one day may nagbalita sa akin na nakauwi na si Angel sa Pilipinas. Nang mahanap namin siya, I decided to keep an eye on her. I want every minute ay alam ko nangyayari sakanya.

*end of flashback*

Ganoon ko kamahal si Angel. I am willing to do everything to make her happy. I want the only man na mahalin niya. Pero may isa lang talagang asungot at yun ay si Chriss David Yoo. Ang President ng Yoo's Company.

Bumalik ako kay Jeniffer, "what about her?"

"Sinugod po siya sa hospital," she said. Sa sobrang gulat ko napatayo ako.

"What? F*ck! Text me kung saang hospital siya dinala at ano ang room number niya!" I said and end the called.

I called my secretary to cancel all my schedule today. I get my car keys and ran to the parking lot.

I am worried about her. F*ck! D*mn!

"I'll be there Athena. Wait for me, please!"
