Derek pulls up in his car. He rolls down his window down. "Need a ride?"

I nod a little. "Yeah."I hug my arms around my torso for warmth.

He gets out and opens the door for me. I nod curtly. We both get in the car and we drive off. The radio playing softly in the background. I blow hot air into my hands to warm them up and rub them together. I stood outside for a good 20 minutes.

Derek slowly reaches for my one hand closest to him and tries to put it on the air vent. I pull away instantly. Derek just puts his hand back on the wheel and turns up the music a few notches.

"Sorry." I mumble. Derek stays quiet his eyes focused on the road

I hear Stiles voice in my head about Derek and I place my hand against my mouth thinking.

"What do you want to ask?" Derek's voice breaks my thoughts, I now noticed the radio is now turned back down.

 "Huh?"

"You have this look on your face like you want to ask something." He points out.

I look back down, here goes nothing. "What happened in the woods the other night?" I inquire.

"Some people don't like me in this town." He replies simply.

"So they shoot at you with crossbows?" I press, while turning to look at him.

"Something like that." He says shortly.

 "Why don't they like you?"

"If you trust me at all you will get answers, but not right now. Okay, it's complicated."

"I have one more question." It is a dangerous question.

 "Yeah?"

I turn to look at him. "Did you kill that girl in the woods?" I don't believe he killed anyone.

"No, that was my sister. Laura." He answers flatly with almost sadness in his eyes. I looked at him and I knew he wasn't lying. I looked down feeling horrible for even thinking he could have killed someone.

"I'm so sorry Derek."

"It's fine." He replies, his tone unchanged.

"Why do Stiles and Scott think you did?"

 "They really don't like me."

"Maybe you should work on your people skills." I joke a little offering a small smile

He smirks a little in response.

"When will you tell me what is going on?" I ask.

 "Soon." He answers.

"I believe you, I know you didn't kill anyone."

"At least someone does."

I don't know if it's the warm car or the extreme fatigue I feel but I slowly doze off in the car.

I feel a hand shake me awake. I look around and I'm in a black car I turn and see Derek looking at me. I jump awake. "Oh jeez, are we at my house?"

"About three houses down from it." Derek responds. I run a hand through my hair and offer him a small polite smile.

 "Thanks for the ride."

 "No problem."

I climb out of the car. "Bye Derek."

 "Bye Em."
