Hazel woke up in the hospital room, not remembering what happened. She looked around for a minute and had a flashback of Star running towards her. She jumped up in pain, as remembering the accident. Her mom was sitting beside her hospital bed saying, "Easy, honey. Don't move too quick". Hazel looked up at her pretty but stressful looking mom.
"I'm okay". Hazel said. "The doctor said you should be doing better soon", her mom said. Hazel still couldn't feel anything. She looked on the end of her bed where there were her cowboy boots, and fringe jacket. "How's Star? Is she okay?", Hazel asked. "Yeah, Star's fine honey. They're taking good care of her", said mom. That was a relief to Hazel. She thought Star was hurt too.
"How long do I have to be here?", Hazel asked. "A few more days, then you can go home", said mom. Hazel wondered if she'd ever be able to walk, since she couldn't feel her legs. "Am I going to be able to walk?", Hazel asked. "Well, we aren't sure yet", Hazel's mom said with hesitation. Hazel could tell something wasn't right.
