(Third Person POV)
"Shaw Shaw! Look what I've finally mastered!" he looked over at Luffy & saw that he was spinning his arm "Gomu Gomu no: Pistol!" it was going to hit its target, unfortunately when it did it bounced off & punched Luffy in the face
"That's gotta hurt..."
"Aw~ I had it in the bag, why can't I do it anymore?"
"Maybe you shouldn't spin your arm."
"Huh?" Ace watched as Shaw stood up & crouched down to Luffy's height, he placed his arm on Luffy's shoulder & looked at him
"Don't spin your arm, it throws you off balance & its probably the reason you keep missing or falling over."
"Eh?" Shaw rolls his eyes, before getting an idea
"I'll show you." he took his glove off & touched Luffy before putting it back on & cracking his knuckles "Gomu Gomu no...: Pistol!" his arms stretched & it destroyed the target, everyone's eyes widened
"Your arm... STRETCHED?!?!?!" they screamed, he merely laughed at their expressions
"Yeah, its another thing what the devil fruit can do." he said
"Teach me teach me!" Luffy screamed, Shaw taught him how to do it & from time to time, he'd accidentally hit Ace or Garp
"Hey! Your doing that on purpose!" they growl, Shaw glared at the two to shut up
"He's learning, now put a sock in it or I'll do it to you!" they instantly went silent "Thank you." halfway through it Luffy gave up & Shaw let out a sigh, the birthday at the bar was soon over so they were all going up the mountain now
"I'm having another party?!"
"It seems like it, lucky you!"
"I know!" Shaw was carrying him on his shoulders & the boy cheered "Your so tall! Your almost as tall as grandpa!" the two look at each other & Garp had finally noticed
"That's true, your only 19 & your height is abnormal!"
"Yeah, Luffy & I are like midgets compared to you!" he lightly laughed as he scratched the back of his neck "How are you so tall, Shaw?" he put his index finger to his lips
"That's a secret, or you'll find out in the future!" they made it to the hut & Garp did the honors on knocking on the door, it was opened by a very cranky Dadan
"What do you want?! I'm busy at the moment so you better make it quick."
"Its me."
"G-Garp...?!?!"
"I also have company." she was going to question him but when he moved to the side, there was Shaw carrying Luffy on his shoulders & Ace standing beside him
"Hey Dadan, its nice seeing you again!" she began tearing up before bringing him into a hug, Luffy laughed & jumped off of his shoulders
"What are you doing back here?!"
"Thought it'd be nice to come visit the family for awhile before heading off again!"
"I don't care! At least your here!" he laughed, they all walk in & the bandits greeted the tall blonde before saying happy birthday to the straw hatted boy
"Back so soon!"
"How's it like on the sea?"
"Hitting on any girls lately?" before he could answer Volpina butted in
"He flirts with every girl he sees, gets real annoying every bloody time!" he laughs, Volpina gets him in a choke hold "Its not funny you idiot!" everyone sweat dropped
"Sorry..."
(Shawn POV)
"Shawn, can I talk to you for a minute?" I look over at Garp confused before nodding "Can I talk to you, alone?" I sigh
"... alright." I stood up with a groan before walking out of the hut with Garp, I sat outside on the same stump & noticed two shacks or huts or whatever, they had Luffy's & Ace's name on them "How could I forget? This is when they were arguing over the dumbest shit!" I laugh to myself remembering about it
"Shaw!"
"Okay okay, what is it that was so important I had to leave Luffy & Ace?"
"... do you know who your father is?" I raise an eyebrow
"You could say I do, but what makes you think I'm talking about my actual father?" Garp sighs
"Okay, do you know your full name? Like, your full full name?" I nod
"Yes, now prove it that you know my full name, unless you bluffing." I noticed that he smirked
"Alright, your full name is Clarity D. Newgate Shawn." my eyes widened "How do I know this? The same reason I know who Ace's father is but opposite reason, your mother."
"My mother?"
"Yes, once she found out that she was pregnant & was having you, she didn't know how to raise you. So she came to me, she asked me to put you somewhere or give you to a family that could raise you, so I did." I furrowed my eyebrows
"So you gave me to a Noble Family & Ace to the mountain bandits?!"
"I hadn't met the bandits at the time, so who could blame me?!"
"Well at least Dadan treated me as an actually person then a tool to get money, fortune that I didn't desire! I grew up in a hell hole till I ran away & became a pirate, I finally felt free after a life time in what seemed like a prison. Then I met Luffy, then Ace & I felt more at home then ever..." I began teary up
"Shawn..."
"Why am I even explaining this to you? You probably don't even care." I sobbed into my hand then suddenly felt him hug me "W-What are you doing...?"
"I'm so sorry Shaw, if only I knew I would've done that in the first place." he broke the hug & I wipe away the tears "You okay?"
"Now I am, thank you for telling."
"So, met you old man yet?" I started smiling
"Of course!"
(Time Skip)
"Are you going now?" Luffy said we a pout, I chuckle & crouch down to his height
"Unfortunately, yes. Garp is being nice & giving me a headstart to leave before he starts hunting me down again."
"Uh-huh!" I roll my eyes
"I'm gonna miss you again!" he exclaimed before wrapping his arms around me as he started crying
"Hey now, there's no need to cry." that was when Ace started tearing up "Aw~ do you want a hug as well?" I teased, he nodded
"Please..." I open my arms & he ran into them, knocking me over in the process "Please visit again if you can!"
"Hey come, I'm gonna see you in 2 years so the one saying that should be Luffy."
"Who cares?! We both wanna see you!" I laugh & they finally let go of me, I got up & hugged Dadan
"Don't think I won't miss you." she then punched my arm "What was that for?! Not like it hurt..." I mutter the last part
"Don't go dying on us, Shawn! We want to see you in the future boy!" I nod
"Of course, I promise. I already promises that to those two so I'll say it again, I promise you all that I won't die!"
"Good, you better keep it now!"
"I will!"
