Shaw had spent a day or so on Dawn Island & he was leaving now, this time Dadan was clinging onto him & was begging him not to leave. Garp was watching & was laughing the entire time, Shaw was glaring at him & was awkwardly trying to get her off him with the bandits help
"Come on boss! Let him go!"
"No! What if he breaks another promise?!" Shaw felt something crack inside
"Dadan! I promise you that I will NOT die! I will come back here with Ace & Luffy with me, I swear on it!!" she hesitantly let him go but gave him a quick hug before letting him go
"You better! I don't want to read the newspaper again to see you dead!" he was suddenly smacked behind the head by Garp
"Neither do I!" then he was gently punched in the shoulder by Makino
"Neither do I!" he laughed & softly hugged Makino, since she was holding Shelby. He suddenly let up as he took his hat off & set it on Makino's head, it was too big for her so it slipped down & covered her face, so she lifted it up "Wha…?" she looked up too see he was grinning at her
"Give that too Shelby for me when he gets older, I know he'll look better in that than me!"
"That reminds me, where is the one I gave you?"
"That's exactly the reason I'm giving you that one, I'm going to go get my old hat back." Shaw looked down & saw that Shelby was reaching his arms out to Shaw
"B–Big… brother–c–chan!"
"Aw~ yeah, little bro?"
"… miss, you!" Shaw couldn't help but cover his mouth as anime tears ran down his face, Shelby was unbearably cute right now
"Me too Shelly! Me too…" Makino kissed his cheek before waving him goodbye, Magra & Dogura had jumped at the boy & hugged him tightly
"Be safe brat! Don't kill yourself either!"
"We'll miss you Shaw! Mostly boss!"
"They're lying Shaw, don't listen to them!!" Shaw chuckled, Dogura ruffled his hair & grinned at the boy while Magra smiled at him
"Thank you, I will definitely miss you as well!" right now he was in front of his ship so just as he was going to board it, Garp stopped him & turned him around
"I was serious about before Shaw, I don't want to come find you & your in Davy Jones Locker, alright?!" Shaw nodded
"You won't! I swear to you that you won't find me & I'm dead, hopefully I won't die before you granddad!"
"What was that?" he looked away
"Nothing, absoLUTEly nothing!"
"Are you sure?" Shaw smirked & placed a hand on his chest
"Of course, I am a man of my word." Garp rolled his eyes & pulled Shaw into a loving hug, who returned it "Till we meet again, granddad, & I have a feeling it'll be soon."
"Hopefully in a good way."
(Time Skip)
Shaw had climbed up the hill & was met by two gravestones, he saw his & he lightly smiled at it, but once he looked at Whitebeard's… he immediately started tearing up. He leaned against his tombstone & suddenly felt weak in his legs so he fell to his knees
