Like Valor said, Shaw had made the headline like Luffy. Being the new Shichibukai by taking Jinbei's position & having a bounty of 430.000.000 already. The rookie pirates had already read about him, thinking he's nothing but a lair
"Taming sea kings?! What a load of bullshit!"
"Hah! I bet his nothing but a no good liar, the best thing I heard so far was the huge Marineford War!"
"I'm still surprised that Whitebeard died!"
"Yeah! & the fact that he had a son!"
"That was also a well-known pirate, Dead Shot Shawn!"
"Wow." the one who was reading it now was the new captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco. Beside him was his girlfriend Devina & his Commander of the 4th Division, Thatch
"The Unknown Monster Tamer-yoi?" Thatch nodded as he read on
"Yeah, or Unknown for short. It says that he was able to tame wild sea kings, a dragon & three mythological birds. Fire, Ice & Lightning. Some think he's a phoney, others think he's crazy."
"He was also given the position as a Shichibukai, & he accepted! But he also doesn't talk, so his partner speaks for him." Devina added
"Does it say where he's from-yoi?" they shake their heads
"Nu-duh, but look a this! His bounty is already 430.000.000 beli! First he took out a fleet of warships then a fleet of pirate ships led by Frog Eye Zander!"
"Frog Eye Zander–yoi? What a shitty name." the duo nodded
"Agreed." they said in unison
(Somewhere)
Raleigh was reading the newspaper while the D. Brothers were running around like crazy, being chased by wild beasts & they were blindfolded. He was also surprised about the Unknown, he already seems to be well-known by locals
"Raleigh!!" he looks from the papers & saw a huge explosion, Luffy was sent flying back & his hind was on fire. Ace was following behind with a lion trying to eat him, Luffy crash landed in a shallow river that was behind Raleigh & Ace slipped into the water
"This lion doesn't give up!!" he rolled his eyes & used Conquerors Haki to beat the wild animal, it whimpered before scurrying away
"You two really need to learn Haki ASAP." Ace rolled his eyes & rubbed his stomach, he had gotten a huge scar that covered his stomach & most of his chest from Akainu when he was defending Luffy from him
"What are you reading, Raleigh?" he asked as he took the blindfold off
"Something about a man taming monsters."
"Monsters/?!" Luffy & Ace asked, but Luffy practically screamed it out
"Describe, monsters."
"Sea kings, dragons, mythical birds."
"Mythical birds? So kinda like Marco?" Raleigh nodded at that
"These birds can control ice, fire & lightning. They are so rare they would cost a fortune, also, they are supposedly all dead."
"But this guy found a few, right?"
"It seems so. By the looks of it, it looks like they imprinted on him." the two look at him in confusion "It means they think he's their father!"
"Really?!"
"But he looks nothing like a bird!" Luffy exclaimed, Ace & Raleigh face palm
'This boy…' they thought together
(Somewhere Else)
Sabo & Koala were still heartbroken on the fact that Shaw died but were able to get their shit straight once they saw Volpina. Sabo recognized her but she didn't recognize him, he was just another person to her
"I'm afraid I don't know you, sir." he laughed awkwardly & scratched the back of his neck
"Volpina–san, t–this is the Chief of Staff, Sabo–kun." she looked at Sabo & her eyes widened as tears appeared
"Sabo…–sama?" she started shaking her head "No, he died 10 years ago! You can't be him!"
"Volpina, Ace, Luffy, Shaw & I stole a bottle of Dadan's sake & shared a bond together." her mouth gaped as she stared at him with widened eyes
"Sabo-sama!!" she lunged at him while crying "Where the hell have you been all this time?! You've been dead for 10 years!!"
"I know, & I'm sorry…!"
"You have no idea how much Shaw would loved to have seen you, Sabo–sama!"
"Yeah, same. But have you read the newspaper lately?" she nodded as she let go of him "This guy seems like a threat, look at how tall he is!"
"He has Whitebeard-sama's height, or, he's half of his height." Volpina mumbled
"You know Whitebeard?" Koala asked
"Of course, he was Boss–sama's father." they all look down sadly
"Oh yeah, our family that brought him up were so horrible. Whitebeard must have been a nice man." Volpina nodded
"He was." Volpina looked back at the newspaper & looked at the sea kings, they looked like the ones from Impel Down
"These sea kings are strikingly similar to the ones Boss–sama & I took from Impel Down to Marineford."
"Impel Down?"
"Yes, when we left in a hurry he planned to break Ace–sama out of Impel Down but was to late so his plan was for me to befriend the sea kings so we could use them to destroy the warships!"
"That was his plan?"
"He has crazy plans that miraculously work." Sabo chuckled & shook his head
"I agree…"
