*Flashback*

It has been a stressful 9 years for both Emma and Regina. Since before Henry's birth, Emma has been by Regina's side no matter what. She was there for all the craving and when the time came she was there to hold Regina's hand through every contraction. She helped Regina with Henry's every fever, every tantrum, every cry... She was there for the first steps, first word, first day of school.
And Emma's more than happy about it. Except for one little thing. Her relationship status with Regina. They've been best friends since before Henry was born but Emma wants more. When Henry's sick he always demands to sleep with both Emma and Regina. Emma loves those times. Well, not the fact that Henry's sick but the way he gets out of bed early in the morning to watch TV without waking either of his mothers. When Henry's gone Regina cuddles to Emma or Emma cuddles to Regina. Those moments where they are half asleep half awake, are the best for Emma.
Emma decided that she wants to cuddle Regina without the need of Henry asking. So she finally decided to take up on her parents offer and let Henry spend the weekend with them so she could try and change her relationship status with Regina.
Regina had work so Emma picked Henry from school and took him to his grandparents house. He already had clothes and other things there so they didn't had to go home first. Emma dropped Henry off, said goodbye to her parents and went home. Once home, she went to the attic and grabbed a table and two of the chairs they once used on a camping trip, and carried them to the car.
She drove to the top of a hill and start setting everything up. When she was satisfied with everything, she drove back home and start making dinner. Emma looked at the clock. 5.22p.m.  Regina's out of work in 8 minutes so she drove to the city hall and waited for her outside.
Regina exited the building and walk to Emma's car as soon as she spot it.
"Hello Emma. Where's Henry?" She was getting in the car.
"With my parents. You and I are going out." Emma said as she started the car.
"Oh? I wasn't informed of that"
"I just informed you. You and I need a break so Henry is spending the weekend with my parents." Emma said and Regina frowned.
"So. Why does henry need to spend the whole weekend at your parents?" Regina asked but Emma ignored her question.
"You dont have to go to work tommorow, right?"
"Hm... No, I don't. Why?" Regina asked but only got a shrugg from Emma.  The rest of the ride went by with only a few 'how was your day?' and 'how are you?' questions. Emma parked at the begining of the forest.
"Are you planning on murder me or something?" Regina asked as they got out of the car.
"Or something." Emma said taking the basket with the food out of the car, and start walking into the forest. Regina rolled her eyes but followed her anyways. Once they reached the spot where Emma had set everything, Regina's eyes went wide.
"Or something indeed."
"You have no idea." Emma mumbled.
"What was that?" Regina asked with a frown.
"I said, let's eat before it gets cold." Emma said and Regina hummed not quite believing her. They sat and ate, only doing small talk.
"Well, this was delicious, who cooked?"
"I did." Emma said and when she saw the look on Regina's face she added, "I can cook, I just don't like to, and you are awesome in the kitchen so."
"Only in the kitchen?" Regina asked with a smirk and Regina froze. "Em, I'm kidding." Regina said laughing, bit her laughter died when she saw the seriousness in Emma's face. "What is it?"
"Regina..." Emma got out of her chair and dragged it so they were facing each other without the table in between. "I want to talk with you about something important. You see, when I moved here I didn't knew anyone and I was moving to a new school, I was so scared! The first day of school, I was alone most of the day until Ruby and her "pack" came out of nowhere and just start talking to me and pulling me with them everywhere. All of the teachers I had that day were all sweet and nice, it was annoying. But the second I stepped in your classroom... God, I could feel the ice. I knew you were going to be different. During the next years of school you became my best friend and I knew I'd do anything for you. When you found out you were pregnant, you came to me and asked me if I wanted to be the Godmother of yours and Daniel's child, and I couldn't believe that someone wanted me to have such an important role in their child's life. But i said yes. Then, Daniel got in that accident." Emma stopped and took Regina's hands in her own. "You lost it, you didn't knew what to do so you came to me. I told you I'd be there every minute, for everything. When I moved in with you, I slept in your bed with you because you and nightmares and we'd cuddle close together, and Regina... You keep me warmer than any blanket ever does. I've come from a stranger to your friend, from a friend to your best friend. And now I'm not only your best friend, I'm also your child's other parent. I've been upgrading my role in your life for so long, this has been an awesome game with ups and downs, that I've been loving to play. If I'm lucky enough, I've gathered enough XP to go to the next level of this game...  Besides, I love food and you make food, therefore, I love you... So, Regina Mills, will you go with me to the next level of the game? Will you be my girlfriend?"
Emma and Regina look each other in the eyes, Emma had tears in hers while Regina's tears were running down her cheeks. Regina took her hands out of Emma's hold, and grabbed Emma's face between her hands.
"I love you too. Of course I want to be your girlfriend, you dumbass." Regina said smiling, bringing Emma's face closer to hers so they could share a needy kiss.
