My mom and dad are home when I arrived which surprised me. My father sometimes go home late. What would you expect from a workaholic man? I greeted and hugged them with a smile on my face. "Dad, you're home early!" I said after I kissed him on the cheeks. He nodded at me.
"There's nothing much to do at work for today. And we have a dinner with your uncle so I postponed my other schedules." He said and started reading something on his laptop. There's nothing much to do yet he's still working here. "They're back from the business trip?" I asked curiously, excited to meet my cousins. He mumbled 'yes' without glancing at me. I grinned and excused myself to change. I typed a message on my phone while walking down the stairs. I decided to text my cousin.
Me: Yah! You didn't tell me you're going home early. Tell Wooju I missed her!
I sat on the sofa with mom and dad who's still focused on his work. I shook my head and waited for a reply but that rascal didn't send any. I heard dad's phone rang and he quickly picked up. I didn't paid any attention as he spoke with whoever that is.
"Mom, when did uncle arrived home?" I asked curiously and stared at my mother beside me. "Just yesterday, sweetie. Why? Your cousin didn't tell you?" Her brows furrowed as she looked at me. I nodded and pouted my lips a bit. Mom then focused on the television. I was looking at the screen too when I heard dad say something that caught my attention.
"What do you mean they made a deal with Kang?" He asked, brows furrowed. He sighed deeply and rubbed his forehead. "They can't just pull out their deal with our company!" Now, dad look frustrated. I averted my gaze away but still listened to their conversation. It seems that one of our clients chose to make a deal with the Kang's company instead.
"I'm sure Kang has something to do with this, that bastard." He's mad again. "Fine then, let them be! We'll find another dealer." After that he ended the call and inhaled sharply. "Honey, are you okay?" My mom asked, a worried expression on her face. "No! That Kang is really getting on my nerves." He said through gritted teeth, trying to suppress his anger.
"What happened?" Dad looked at me. Startled that I asked a question that involved his business. He sighed, "He took another client from me again." He shook his head. Anger was plastered in his face but he's calm. "That bastard's trying to ruin our company." He cursed under his breath.
Our company sells oil products and it was going smoothly until Mr. Kang's company showed up. It threatened my dad's company since they have the same business. Dad then became more frustrated after that. "Do you hate them, dad?" A question suddenly slipped from my mouth. "The Kangs?" I continued even though I was surprised on my own question.
Dad confusedly looked at me. "Yes, and I suggest you do not come near them." Why would I even go near them? "When the time comes and you took over our company, his sons will be your rivals." He said seriously. I frowned at him. "Dad, you know I don't want to–"
"Shush, young lady." He cut me off, "Just stay away from them. And regarding the business, I know you'll take over it. We have no choice." He stared at his laptop again. "Dad!" I whined and crossed my arms over my chest, frowning. "We talked about this Saeron." He sighed as if trying to calm his self.
"Minhyuk, why don't you two leave this topic for a while?" My mom said softly beside me. I shifted on my seat and looked at dad. His mouth set in a grim line as he looked at the laptop's screen with brows furrowed. I want to speak and complain but I can't. I don't want him to be mad at me. I inhaled deeply and calmed myself.
