Grounded

__________

I slowly walked towards their gate, my hands trembling and my heart beating wild inside my chest. I can make up a lie, an excuse, I know I can. But why am I still feeling scared? I shut my eyes tightly and breathed in heavily before exhaling. When I opened my eyes the maids are already rushing towards me along with my frantic and panicking friend.

"Saeron!" She ran towards me, leaving all the maids behind. "Your father's here," She said and I almost cursed only if I didn't know about it.

"I know, what did you tell him?" I asked, hoping she didn't say anything. "Uhh, he didn't ask anything but I said you were out to stroll or something. I didn't know what to say, he looks mad Saeron!" She looked at me frantically. I licked my lips and told her to calm down.

"Don't be nervous! He'll suspect something, Gahyeon." I shushed her when she still mumbled things. "Why are you like that anyway? I can handle this." I reassured her or more like I reassured myself.

"Why am I like this?! I know you're with Daniel last night even if you didn't tell me, you brat!" She almost screamed, I needed to pull her away from the maids. "What? How did you know?" I asked curiously after shutting her up.

"I'm your friend Saeron. That fact alone is enough so I know what you're up to. I just couldn't believe you ran away with him!" There she goes again. I rolled my eyes. "I didn't run away with him, you're exaggerating." I said so she can stop thinking such things.

"Then where did you guys go? Where did you stay? Or sleep?" She asked continuously. I glanced at the maids and Gahyeon immediately dismissed them as if she knows what I'm thinking.

"I stayed at his house–"

"Oh my gosh! Wha–" I covered her mouth with my hands to keep her from shouting. "Will you please lower your voice?" She just eyed me suspiciously before I let her go. "Then where did you sleep while staying in his house?" She narrowed her eyes at me, as if accusing me already.

I gulped thinking if I should tell it to her. When I didn't speak she already widened her eyes indicating that she already thought of something. "Oh my gosh don't tell me you both slept together? In one bed?!" I bit my lip, unable to deny nor speak.

"Did you guys.." I looked at her, her eyes telling me that she's thinking of something beyond my imaginations. "D-Did you two d-do it– I mean oh my gosh Saeron did you lose you vi–"

"No! Gahyeon, of course not! Stop thinking about it, okay?" She stared at me wide eyed as if she doesn't believe me. But she managed to calm down after a minute. "What are you gonna tell your father then?" She finally asked.

"I don't know.." I sighed.

Her panicking again didn't help me, it made me more nervous. I relaxed myself but I feel like running away. I know I got this, but still dad might know what I really did so even if I make up an excuse, it'll be useless.

We both walked together towards their house, then the living room. My heart still pounding loud inside my chest. I saw my dad in the sofa, two guards behind him as he looked at me with cold eyes. "Dad.." I whispered, unable to say anything.

He stood up from his seat. "We're going home." He said through gritted teeth. "Dad I was just outside–"

"Don't you dare make up excuses Saeron! Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You're dragging your friend in your lies. I don't want to hear anything, we'll talk as soon as we get home." His words are full of authority as if he wouldn't take no for an answer.
