Bellatrix lestrange wasn't really in love with Rodolphus, she married him to carry on the bloodline. Also to make her mother proud, she was in love with her master to be honest and she showed it a lot. Voldemort had just killed Happy Potters parents but instead of disappearing he just went into hiding.
