"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face."

Gianna Pov~

"Cata what do you want to do today?" I asked my babygirl as I was brushing her long brown hair. I should probably get it cut soon. It was too much for a 7 year old girl, she could barely brush it herself, and always waited for me to do it for her. And dealing with so much other kids in the house most of the time her hair was like a birds nest.

"Can we go to a park or somewhere out the house today?" She asked in as she was playing with the hair ties in her hand. I nodded my head and then realized she couldn't see me. "Of course. Daddy said the coast is clear so we can go anywhere you guys want today." I say with as much excitement in my voice.

She jumped excitedly in my lap. "Can we get ice-cream or pizza? Or both!" Her voice getting higher as her excitement grew. I laughed at her eagerness. "Sure, but you have to promise not to tell your daddy." I said with a smile playing on my lips. "Our secret mommy." She says raising her pinky, I smile and wrapped my pinky around her tiny one.

I began braiding her hair as my other baby boy walked in. Dantae was one year older than Cata. "Hey buddy! Are you ready to go?" I asked looking down at his jeans and shirt with a button shirt pulled over, but remained unbuttoned. He was sporting his converse sneakers, and his hair was brushed already. "Yea, Ales helped me." He said walking over towards us and leaned his head against my shoulder. I smiled and kissed his head while I finished up Cata's braid.

"Mommy?" Dantae called out with a soft voice. "Hmmm?" I replied taking the hair tie from Cata's hand and tying her hair. "How come daddy isn't coming with us today?" He asked as he looked up at me with those same piercing blue eyes that matched his father. I gave a soft smile and pulled him on my lap next to Cata. The both kids looking at me waiting for my answer.

"Daddy is working today with your uncles." i explained brushing Dantae's hair to the side.

"How come he's always working?" He asked playing with my long necklace. I sighed. I always hated that Adriano was always so busy. I mean I know I could never change him and I would never want to. Being the Capo was who he was, it was something he was passionate about and I would never ask him to give that up. But the kids couldn't fully wrap their heads around who he really was and they wouldn't fully understand until they were older.

They always missed their father when he wasn't around. But when he was around he would be playing with them or teaching them some part of history or teaching them Italian and making them laugh and smile. He made sure to take an interest in each kid and their hobbies or things they loved to do. They all looked up at him with awe in their eyes and it was something that made me fall in love with Adriano all over again. He was such an amazing father. Nothing like our own fathers, Adriano forged his own path. He made sure to shower his kids with love but always kept them protected and safe. He was a great man like that.

"Daddy is a very important business man. He has to make sure his family is safe, after he has done that then he will come home and be with you guys." I try to explain as simply as I can. Dantae nodded slowly and Cata huffed. "I miss him." She mutters and my heart drops a little. I hugged my two kids and kissed their heads. "I know you do. But he will be home later. Maybe you can spend some time with him then." I say with a hint of cheer in my voice.

They both nodded and I urged them to get their siblings and cousins to the foyer so we can get going. They ran out the room following my orders and I made my way out the hallway and down the stairs where AJ and Marcio stood with Michel and Dean. They were about to head out as well on their own mission.
