“Hey!” Serena pouted.
Aizen smirked. “H’wag mong sabihin na magpapatalo kayong dalawa ni Sky sa three-legged race?”
Another score flashed right in front of our face, and the Pegasus Race was already decided.

“Poseidon Section won, but they are still at the bottom,” Light mumbled, once again devouring a whole bag of popcorn.
“Langit—”

Riley and I unwillingly went to the starting line inside the arena. Dylan and Ellen immediately greeted us with mocking grins. It was an annoying sight. A satyr gave us a red ribbon for us; Riley tied our ankles together, and when we tried moving together as we practiced, but the ribbon used in this competition was more slippery, making both of us unable to move the way we wanted.
“Whoo~ whoo~” Dylan whistled. Nag-finger heart pa si gago habang inaasar kami. Saktan ko kaya ‘to?
“Tangina, Ventura,” inis kong bulong nang muntik na kaming matumba dahil sa biglaan niyang pag-abante.
“Tanga, sorry.” Sumilip siya sa Poseidon Section saka na rin sa nag-papractice na ngayon na sina Dylan at Ellen. “Dude, Dylan, and Ellen are great at this. Should we just apologize to Aizen and forfeit this?”
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
Nang tumingin kami sa direksyon ng Primus, ang mga mata nila ay tila nag-aapoy. Hindi ko mawari kung excited ba sila o sadyang nababasa lamang nila ang nasa isip namin at sinisindak kami para takutin.

Riley looked at me unsurely, “Do you want to do that?”
“Do you want to get a punch in the face?”
“I’m just trying to suggest.”
Nakabusangot ko s’yang tiningnan, “Sino ba ang gusto mo si Ice o ako?”
“May gusto ako kay Ice?” Takhang tanong niya.
“Huh?”
“Huh?”
We looked at each other while blinking our eyes. What on Styx did he just say? Is he flabbergasted because I asked him if he likes Ice or me? Riley suddenly cleared his throat and awkwardly scratched his chin. I heaved a sigh and poured my attention on Mr. Panther, who arrived at the end of the arena.
There is a lot of audiences right now, and most of them are looking to Riley and me. I should’ve volunteered in the Clash of the Demigods and let Aizen and Serena compete in this fucking race.
“Now, the closing competition will now begin. Get ready, demigods!”
This is far from the usual three-legged race, and we are demigods; this will become a chaotic event. But presumably, not as bloodier as the swimming competition because there are no sea monsters present, and the contestants present now are much less evil, except Ellen. Dahil alam kong mana siya sa amo niyang si Celine, she will be up for something.
“On your mark. Get, set, go!”

Bigla na lamang nanlaki ang mga mata namin, mabilis ang naging pagtaas namin sa ere. Tinapunan namin nang masamang tingin sina Ellen, tumawa lang siya’t sumaludo pa silang dalawa sa amin ni Dylan bago kami iwan sa ere.
Nang makalayo na sa amin sina Ellen, naramdaman namin ni Riley ang pagbagsak namin. At kahit na ayaw namin gawin, ang nakakahiyang realidad—niyakap namin ang isa’t-isa.
“Tangina mo, Ellen!”
“Puno! Puno! Ventura, puno!”
Nakita ni Riley ang puno sa labas ng arena’t kinontrol niya iyon upang saluhin kami. At dahil masyado naming idol si Celine, ginamit namin ang paborito niyang katangahan at nag mistulang isang slingshot ang puno upang mabilis kaming makabol sa iba.

I used a water sphere in order to stop us. And with the help of Riley’s blessing, we came first in reaching the finish line.
We won, but it feels like we lost.
