"Malachi nice to see you, have a seat" Dr Mallory said as he shook my hand

I had just arrived to the hospital and was brought to his office by one of the nurses. I was nervous about what he had to say. Hopefully they could cut me some slack because I can't afford one thousand dollars a day for those machines to run.

"Let's jump right into it shall we" He chuckled

"yeah...sure" I said swallowing a lump in my throat

"so we have seen some signs of improvement but she's still in a comatose state. as we discussed earlier in two weeks the hospital will unfortunately stop providing for her. if you'd like you are welcome to pay the bills or even talk to her insurance company to see what they can do but if not we're going to have to pull the plug sadly"

"there's nothing else you can do, can you give her another month at least? I'm begging you" I pleaded

"I'm sorry but it's not up to me. we have been able to cut the price of what you're paying to twenty-four thousand a month. that's about twenty percent off the original price. depending on how much her insurance company is willing to pay you could be looking at just paying only fifteen thousand a month or much lower"

He was saying these things as if it was nothing. Unlike him I don't make $250,000 a year. Yeah I have money stashed up from music and revenue but after a couple of months I'm going to go broke. Most of my money I invested in Storm's college fund and there's no way I'm dipping into that.

"and there's nothing else you can do?" I asked

"unfortunately not" He said

"you have to understand that we've done as much as we could but due to the circumstances it's more expensive. not only is it her that machines run for but they also account for keeping the baby developing and healthy. that's all accounted for in the bill" The nurse added

"um wait you mentioned a baby. uh what baby are you talking about exactly?" I asked confusedly

The nurse and the doctor began to look at each other with confused expressions then both turned to look at me.

"you are aware that the patient is about to enter the ninth month of pregnancy right? that's why we granted four months of hospital benefits otherwise it would have been the standard three months" The nurse asked

Pregnant? Nine months? Nyah isn't pregnant what the fuck are they talking about?

"oh I get it. you guys must have me confused with a different patient. I'm here for Nyah London" I chuckled
