'We've' been flying for what my internal clock guesses as at least an hour. My hands are numb from the creeping chill and my foot's falling asleep. But the adrenaline and fear of falling hasn't worn off. I've slipped three times and been able to get my hold again.
Well I haven't been sleeping.
I haven't looked at the climate to distinguish what sector were in, but the helicopter's flying low now so I glance over my shoulder and gasp. My eyes widen as I look at the clear water a few feet away from my back. A lake.
