days past, nights slipped away. vernon didn't go to school anymore, he called in sick for a week. he didn't invite girls anymore, he didn't even text his friends anymore. he just lays there on his bed in his empty dorm, staring into nothingness.

seungkwan moved dorms after that day. the last time vernon saw him, was the day when he came to pack all his stuff away, rip down all the posters of his on the wall, and gather everything that had a trace of him away, from vernon.

Jun did visit vernon a few times, telling vernon how he should've listened to him when he wanted to say something. jun told vernon that seungkwan just had temporarily amnesia and.... it actually heals itself.

vernon's parents... didn't, no, couldn't worry about him.

vernon pushed himself up from the bed and slipped on a hoodie, and a pair of shorts. he didn't bother to comb his hair, so he just brushed his teeth and washed his face.

why is the water so loud? why is air screaming at him? why did he wish for seungkwan.... the boy who hated him... to be here?

vernon guess, he didn't want the boy to go.

vernon suddenly feel a burst of energy, no, desperation. a burst of energy so colossal that it became desperation. he had to run, to seungkwan, to the boy... he didn't want to lose.

so he did.

he ran around the campus until his breathing was louder than anything else he could here. he ran until his lungs feel like they're about to burst. he ran until his feet hurt. he ran until he saw the boy.

seungkwan. he sat there with joshua, smiling at joshua, talking to joshua, laughing with joshua, blushing because of joshua.

vernon couldn't gather the courage to go up to them.

it was a strange feeling for him, at least... for a long time. the self-doubting boy who hid behind doors after doors in vernon's heart felt that all the time. but vernon changed.

but did he really?

vernon sees with his own eyes, seungkwan walking away and up the stairs and disappears. with joshua by his side.

he doesn't want this to happen. the vernon a month ago would have sprint up to them and grab seungkwan away from joshua....

and tell seungkwan his story.

no.

the vernon a month ago wouldn't do that.

the vernon a month ago would never tell anyone, even jun, his story.

but he changed. vernon changed.

'i changed' vernon tells himself 'seungkwan, i changed'

the vernon now would hurry up to seungkwan and grab him away from joshua and...

and tell seungkwan his story.

he needed seungkwan to know. he's despartate for seungkwan to know. he would do anything, just for seungkwan to know his story.

"seungkwan!" before vernon realize it, he's breathing hard again from running.

seungkwan is standing in front of him.

"seungkwan... please-" vernon stopped and looked up at seungkwan. the boy's looks stayed the same, of coures it did, but did the boy's heart change? did it forgive him?

of coures it didn't.

"excuse me, we need to go." seungkwan said.

"please wait," vernon said, again. the word please feels so weird to say again.

"seungkwan... please.... can i please talk to you. don't turn away, just give me one chance, please."

vernon surprised himself. vernon surprised joshua.
vernon surprised the students passing by.

vernon even manage to surprise seungkwan.

"one chance," seungkwan said, and he let go of joshua's hand.

vernon looked up and saw seungkwan walking towards the grass corner. he caught up to seungkwan and they walked together.

seungkwan didn't say anything. except, "don't cry."

his voice was soft and euphonious. vernon looked at the boy smiling at him, even after all the harsh things he did to him, and all the unforgivable words he said to him.

vernon didn't believe someone so beautiful could existed in his broken reality.

vernon realizes that he's crying.

he cried, for the first time in.... he counted, 10 years.

he cried, for the first time after.... his parent's death, and the beginning of his 'story' that he hid from everyone, even sometimes, himself.

"seungkwan," vernon said, "my parents are dead, too... and-"
