Seff's whole attitude made no sense to anyone who didn't know him. feral, untrustworthy, intrusive. Some of the things he's been called by others. He was especially skeptical of strangers. He looked as if the muscles of his face had gone on strike. But those factors have at no point affect her ways towards him. In a way the two were very similar.
The whole atmosphere of the room dimmers, an uneasy feeling, but y/n begs to differ, accelerating her chair, wheeling forwards towards him. "Seff, haven't seen you for a few days" she sits facing his emotionless expression, his eyes move downwards towards her. He grits his teeth, disgust explicit on his face. The artic fox uses his paw to push her chair back, effortlessly and with a swift movement. She glides spinning anti-clockwise, enjoying the ride. "As cold as ever" she giggles amiably, fond of his famous attitude. Since he was family. Basically her only family. The both half cousins turn to Warren who was cautiously watching them. "Well as much as I'd like to stay and chat, I have some students to teach" her tail uncoils from the back of the chair. He snorts out mockingly, "you teaching a class? Sure you won't hurt them?" His cold eyes hold hers. "Not unless they provoke me" she quickly teases. Waltzing off, then turning into a skip.
The room falls to silent.
Y/n P.O.V
My eyes immediately detect the anxiety trapped deep in the children stood clumsily, clenching their arms, wet sleeves. I focus my eyes to the one sat awkwardly on the floor, bruises running all down his neck. My face goes blank for a second, before shifting to a subtle change. I'm going to help these kids.
They all look over to me as I enter the room, closing the door silently behind me. Without words being exchanged I can already make out parts of their situations. Limits are tightly held on their expressions. Their manners come into play, all showing me their crooked fake smiles. They all seem like such sweet children, but all with broken lives, living in constant fear. I decide to start with a hope to encourage them.
"This world is corrupt, and we're not perfect, far from it, and anyone who says they are is deluding themselves. I know myself better than anyone else knows me, and I know my imperfections. I may not like them, but I've come to accept they're a part of who I am. I wouldn't be me without them, and so that makes them easier to stomach. Not being perfect isn't a curse, it isn't an issue, and it's certainly not anything to be ashamed of. It's simply a sign you're just as animal as everyone else."
Their eyes widen, facial expressions in awe. It takes a second or two for the new information to sink in, their tiny minds processing the data. An inability to compute. Then one of their lips stretch wider into gaping grin. My words got through. My actions are risky, my teaching techniques will surprise them, but I cannot shape them into perfect little machines, able to perfectly save them from every hardship. I'm going to speak to them, true words, no sugar coating. They're my students. And I think for a moment their grief is suspended.

Author note:
Well, that chapter wasn't great, honestly I got a bit lost there 😅 If nothing changes Nick will be in the next chapter, I was just trying to balance out her life, since she's able to defend herself it would make sense to have a bit of a back story, even though this isn't a back story... What am I rambling about? 😂
