Yoongi

It's been days.

Yesterday, her and her father managed to spend time together. And I finally get to see her today. I fiddled with the bracelet around my wrist, the others sitting on the benches while I was standing, waiting for the doctor to get out so I can visit her.

"She's awake." her father walked out of the room, smiling at us. "You can visit her now."

"You should eat breakfast first, sir." I insisted, handing him a dosirak. He smiled at me in gratitude, before walking past me. Feeling myself smiling, I opened the door.

"Ayumi?" I said softly, quickly making her way over and insisting her to lay down. She was trying to stand up, and for no good reason, I knew that. She was fasting.

"What are you trying to do?" Hoseok said worriedly, but I beat him to sitting on the chair.

"Ayumi, you shouldn't try standing up." Jimin frowned. "Your body needs to rest."

She seemed so sad about it, I didn't want to look at her. But I did. She smiled up at me, and I couldn't help but smile back, too. "But good news, jagi." I opened the dosirak. "You can eat now. We bought you waffles, but you have to eat a meal first."

Hoseok helped her sit up, as I offered her some food. She thankfully ate it.

"And for entertainment," Jimin stood up. "I will show you a new choreography for this dance. Namjoon?" he turned to Namjoon, who had Jimin's phone in his hands.

Ayumi was smiling so wide as Jimin started dancing, I pulled out my phone and took a photo. She was.. so beautiful. It made my heart flutter to see her so happy by something so simple. I wanted to protect her.

"Caught in a lie," Jimin sang with the song, laughing on how Ayumi was so impressed as he danced.

She clapped her hands when he was done.

"See?" he said, panting and sitting on a chair across of her bed. "Once you get better, I'll teach you the choreography."

I handed her my phone so she could reply: 'You're such a great great great great dancer! But for one, you should eat more.. and you dancing makes me want to dance as well!'

"Aish, you flatter me, Ayumi." Jimin smiled widely. "And don't worry, I swear by means that I eat a lot. I just don't get why I'm not getting any bigger. And I'll wait until you get better so we can dance together again!"

"How about bad news?" Eri rested her chin on top of her hand as I handed Ayumi her favourite food - waffles. Eri sighed, "I mean, if you even consider this as bad news."

"What is it?" Jimin asked curiously. I knew he had a crush on her - but the fact that he wasn't head over heels for her cut him out the annoying line.

"My flight for New Zealand is tomorrow night." I didn't know that. In fact, I didn't even know they were leaving the country in the first place. My brows furrowed, and I turned to Namjoon with a questioning look.

He shrugged, "I'm not going with her."

Eri nodded. "You got it. I'm gonna be separated with this dork. And before any of you asks, it's because I want to study in New Zealand. Namjoon insists to study in Korea until the end of highschool."

"Is that why you took the exams much earlier?" Hoseok clarified. "No wonder. I'm upset! Why didn't you guys say anything?"

Ayumi frowned as they talked, slightly tilting her head as she listened.

Eri and Namjoon were my childhood friends. Though, since me and Namjoon had much more things in common, Eri was always left out. And she adapted with our attitudes, maybe that's why she seemed vicious sometimes. I couldn't blame her.

I was a bit upset that they didn't tell us any earlier, too. As much as I hate to admit it, she was a good friend.

Ayumi started typing: 'So.. this is the last time I'll be seeing you?'

"Last time?" Eri scoffed, moving and pulling Ayumi in a gentle hug. "Pabo. Of course I'm going to come back once in a while to visit! And you have to get better for me, the others, and your boyfriend."

Namjoon rolled his eyes, "Wow. How it sucks being in the 'others' category."

"Wait a minute," Hoseok started. "Does this mean I'm the only one going to lead the whole cheering team while Ayumi's gone?"

Eri shrugged and smirked, tapping Hoseok's shoulder. "You got it, general."

Yeah. I guess she was quite a bully.

"How are you feeling, Ayumi?" I questioned out of nowhere. Because.. there were just times wherein I suddenly remembered that being loved by her was one of the best things. I couldn't help but stare at the cotton pad on her right arm.

Every day.. they injected the medicine into her. All it did was make her look so tired.. her body seemed so vulnerable, and she turned pale.

At the thought, I moved my arm so it was next to hers. "You're as pale as me. Are you feeling okay?" I asked worriedly.

Usually, I wouldn't be this affectionate around the others. But I couldn't help but be. The fact that she was in a hospital bed in front of me - I didn't even care anymore.

"I.." Jimin trailed off. "I don't think that's a good thing."

"Maybe it will take a while for the medicine to take effect," Hoseok reassured. "She's not hurting for nothing. This isn't for nothing. The injection is for her to feel better soon."

I wasn't sure about that.

What was happening?

I turned to Namjoon for his answer. My eyes were probably cold again - I felt.. different. For some reason, I was.. mad.

"That's just how her body reacts to the medicine." Namjoon said, standing up to check up on Ayumi. "She's fine. I'm sure."

I was getting fed up with everything again.

"I need to go." I said lowly, standing up.

Namjoon did as well, "Yoongi?"

I felt a hand around my wrist, making me turn around. Ayumi's eyes gleamed in question.

I crouched down and kissed her cheek, "I promise I'm not going to hurt myself." I murmured.

And my feet took me outside, Namjoon following me.

I felt..

Betrayed.

What was the truth?
