Lisa's pov~

We exited the YG building to absolute chaos. Endless number of press vans parked outside, their large dish antennas up and running. Reporters swarmed the place with their mics and cameras. And of course how could I forget the fans, both the angry ones and the supportive ones.

All parked outside the YG building and our dorms for the past three days now.

The incident with Jungkook and the crowd only added feul to the already raging fire of me "kissing" Mark Tuan. It didn't help that in the public eye Jungkook already had a girlfriend. That meant another round of name calling, defending and verbal battles all over the internet.

Bighit had released a statement claiming responsibility for the rescue, that their idol couldn't possibly leave a fellow idol in such risky situation when help was at hand. It had mellowed the rabid fans a little but didn't much help when it came to my reputation.

The car door closed behind us, the din of the crowd outside dulling to a background murmur. Security cleared the road ahead and the big hummer started to move.

Yang sajangnim spoke from across us.

"Lisa-yah." His deep voice didn't bode well for me. "This can't continue for long. We have to do something."

I gulped. Is unemployment looming ahead?

Jisoo spoke from beside me. "Sajangnim, it isn't her fault-

"That might be the case. But carelessness is a fault in my books." He leaned forward and rubbed his temples. Suddenly, it looked like he had aged a decade in the past few days. And I felt even more guilty. Managing a big company, keeping us protected and now dealing with this fallout, ultimately it all came down on his shoulders.

"I'm ready to do whatever to right things, sajangnim. I'm aware I have failed my responsibilities as a member of this group-"

"Lisa-"Jennie started.

"No, Jennie. It's true. I own up to everything and will do whatever it takes to make amends." I felt like I had just placed my head on the guillotine.

He nodded his head and looked me straight in the eyes. "We're sending you home."

Collective gasps sounded from beside me while my own jaw dropped open. "What?"

He smiled a little, like he knew he was torturing us. "Calm down, I'm not firing you. Just a short suspension for you to reflect on yourself and also for the situation here to calm down. We'll do the damage minimising here while you stay out of the public eye for a while. Eventually, they'll find something else to focus on."

Woah, okay. "And the other members?"

"They'll stay here. But keep a low profile for a while. Also they'll start with the preparations for your next album, now that As If It's Your Last promotions are done. The sooner we put out new music the better, you don't want to be losing any more fans." He looked at all of us, gauging our reaction.

Chaeyoung and I looked at each other with matching worried expressions, before she nervously asked, "How long will she be gone?"

He gave her a reassuring smile. "Until your Japanese album promotions begin. I've already booked a ticket to Bangkok for her."

So this was my punishment, seclusion from the initial album production. I knew it could have been worse but Yang sajangnim knew how important this period was. As an artist and also as a member of a cohesive group. It felt like I was being grounded, told to stand in the corner and face the wall.

Better than getting fired at least.

I felt Jennie's arm go across my shoulders as I looked up to answer. "I'll start packing."
