A/N: The song is Sail Away by Randy Newman

"Hi. I am so sorry, (y/n)...I don't know what came over me. I'm not like that. I'm really not, I should have never kissed you like that. I should have never done anything like that...I should've listened to what you had to say." "Mark, relax. I was just with your friend Dark...Ari...whatever his name is." Mark's breath hitched. "Are you okay?" he asked, sounding worried. "I'm just fine, thanks. Why?" "Dark is a strange dude...he didn't fuck you, did he?" "No!" I said, appalled. "I wasn't implying anything about you...he just likes to get off...look, let's change the subject. Come back to the marina? I'm still in my car over here." Why? "What are you doing there?" I asked. "I just didn't really wanna leave...I had no idea what to do after we kissed...I just felt weird. I'm sorry." "Fuck me...yeah, I'll be there. I'm sorry, you didn't have to stay there." "It's okay (y/n), and no, I'm the sorry one." I hung up and went straight to the marina where I saw Mark sitting in his car. I rapped lightly on the window. Mark rolled it down. "Jump in, it's kinda chilly out." I hopped in the passenger seat and we sat in silence. "Look, I am seriously sorry." he said. "Stop apologizing. I shouldn't have run off like that." "No, that was stupid. Funny you brought up feelings today...I have a few of my own. Look, over the last few weeks, I've gotten really interested in you as more than a friend...and I was kinda hoping we could...go out once or twice?" He looked at me with some sort of puppy dog eyes that made me melt. "I dunno...I just fear that you'll leave." He picked up my hand. "(Y/N), you could dump me and I won't leave. You're a great person." I was unsure of what to say. "Just let me know, okay? I'll wait for you." I processed what he had said for a minute before leaning over and kissing him deeply. He kissed back passionately and time seemed to stop. "I think it's worth a shot...but don't be surprised if I run from you a time or two." I said, brushing my hair behind my head. "It's in my nature." I said. "I'll chase you. Don't worry, you won't get too far gone." I smiled. "Smooth sailing?" I asked, offering him my pinky. "Smooth sailing." he replied, making me a pinky promise.
