Forty Eight

Sorry guys. I know that update took so long. I had too many assignments to get through for uni this time. Hopefully this makes up for it.

Ok, I have the whole 'action sequence' in my mind but I hope that they make sense as I don't know if that is coming out how I imagine it all going down. Please forgive me if it doesn't.

Arrow and Flash stood hidden as they waited for Killer Frost to stop. And sure enough she paused.

"I think she is getting tired. Like I said, she needs a power source from something," whispered Arrow.

"We are running out of time and just waiting around here isn't helping. I want her to be safe. I will distract her... Somehow while you get in there and get that device," said Flash.

With a last glance at each other and a deep breath, they jumped into action. Arrow waited patiently as Flash went first. In a flash of red, he abandoned his place behind the pole and was on the other side. Sure enough, Killer Frost, whose hands were risen and about to attack, stopped dead slowly turned to face Flash.

"I'm done playing games here Flash. I will get out of your way after this, but not without that device," said Killer Frost.

"And I cant let you go with that device or back to Savitar. I don't know what he wants from you or what he plans to do. However, I cant abandon you...Not like this."

"Too late for that."

And just as Flash had predicted, she attacked him. She raised her hands and ice crystals went flying out of her hands towards him. He sped around dodging them and making sure that in this all he kept her attention away from Oliver.

"Oliver, you have to hurry. With all the noise that you all are making, I have security making their way towards you," came Felicity's voice over the earpiece.

"Damnit," sore Oliver. I have lost the Electromagnetic arrow and Caitlin isn't helping."

Flash heard this and before Oliver even had time to do anything else, the arrow slide to his side. With his speed, Flash had retrieved his arrow.

It was no or never, thought Oliver and with a deep breath he ran for the door. Making sure that Killer Frost wasn't looking, he opened the door and slide in.

"Caitlin, please. All I want to do is help. What do I have to say to make you believe this?" asked Flash.

"Nothing you say or do is going to change the fact that in this all, I was alone. I honestly thought that we were friends and that when you said that you all loved me and would help me... you would mean it. At one point, I actually thought that was true. The moment that you made me realise that you were with me. But like all, Iris was more important for you than me."

With a raised, she was about to attack when she saw in the glass reflection, Arrow approaching from the door holding something in his hands. In this all, she had forgotten about him and he had now retrieved the device. Instead she turned around and threw the ice stick at him. To dodge this, Arrow slide down but lost the device. With a jump, he got to his feet and retrieved an arrow and aimed at her.

But this time, Killer Frost was quicker. She ran towards him and without any warning, she kissed Arrow. His eyes widened and hands started to shake as from inside out his temperature started to drop. She was draining his power and freezing with frost bite. His bow and arrow fell to the ground and even before it hit the ground, Flash was by his side and with a swing, he pulled Killer Frost away from Arrow and then came to a stop few metres away. Arrow fell to his knees coughing as he tried to get his breath back. Flash had saved him just time before he was hurt too badly.

"Oliver... you ok," called Felicity.

In response, he just coughed.

Recovering from being dragged away, Killer Frost turned to face Flash. She took a step forward without warning, a sharp pain ran up his legs. He stumbled to the ground as his eyes teared up from the pain. Killer Frost had just stabbed him in the thin with an ice crystal. She turned around and ran to the device that was on the floor.

"Sorry boys, I loved little catch-up but it's time for me to go. You all made an effort but the winner takes it all," smiled Killer Frost.

She bent down to pick up the device. All was all lost at that moment as Flash tried to get to his feet but the pain was too much. She was about to take it in her hands when she jerked her hand back. Flash watched in amusement trying to see what happened. She pulled out an arrow. Something wasn't right. She got up and stumbled back as the room started to spin. She was about to fall back when Flash, dragging his leg came behind her and caught her just in time. He gently knelt down with her in his arms.

"That arrow is laced with the same property serum that knocks you out as it enters the bloodstream. She will be out for a couple of hours which will give you enough time to take her to Central City," explained Oliver.

Nodding, Flash started to get up when with a gush of wind and blue flash, Savitar stood in front of them.

"I don't think so. She is too precious for me to let go," he said in his cold voice.

Without another word, he picked up Killer Frost and zoomed out leaving Arrow and Flash looking after him.

Quickly getting to his feet Arrow picked up the device. "We have to get out of here ASAP, the security are on their way and we cant be seen."

Limping and in pain, Flash and Arrow made their way of the ARGUS.

Thank God you guys are all right. I was worried," said Felicity. She quickly brought the first aid kit when she saw Barry limping.

"It's ok, give it time and I'll heal. She didn't stab me too badly," said Barry shaking his head.

"I managed to get the device and coming so close to Savitar and Killer Frost, I will advise you to be careful," said Oliver, handing him the device.

"I truly don't understand how this can happen. What could have possibly happened that I chose to become Savitar?" question Barry.

"I don't know, but I know that Caitlin has a chance. She is still in there and I could see it in her eyes that no matter how much she wants to forget it, she is still in there."

"But... I don't know how I can prove to her that I'm always on her side. I care about her and this is all my fault. She is right to be mad at me."

"Barry, maybe you didn't pay attention. Like I said, I don't think she knows that Caitlin is still in there. She said that she only loved one and trusted one person at STAR Labs and yet I stand alone," said Oliver.

"She meant Ronnie."

"Barry, I cant believe that you didn't see it coming. Yes she loved Ronnie but at that point she wasn't talking about him. You didn't see the way she looked at you. She was hurt, she was TALKING ABOUT YOU...."

With great surprise and shock Barry stood in the Arrowcave and watched Oliver. Thinking back at that moment, he could see it too. Her eyes looked at her with pain and sadness and they looked at him the way he used to look at Iris. With pure love...
