Fifty Five

Joe could feel the hope draining away from him as he couldn't see a way to save her daughter. They had tried and for a second he has his hopes high and now couldn't see a way out of this. Savitar walked towards her and now stood over her limp body. 

Inside Barry anger grew further as he felt he had let them all down... Let Iris, Joe, Cisco and most of all Caitlin down. Shaking off that feeling he made up his mind... He wasn't going to give up, not like this. He was about to run (even though he wasn't even sure he would make it to her in time) but then froze at what happened... 

Savitar started to bent down to Iris who still was unconscious on the ground. "This would make it all so easy Flash," laughed Savitar. 

He extended his metal suit arm when to just before him... Right around Iris a wall of ice crystals rose in her defense. It stood there stopping Savitar from even toughing Iris. In anger Savitar went to punch and break the wall when a sharpe crystal cames and hit him in the arm and he stumbled back. Flash and Savitar turned around and there stood Killer Frost, hands raised and hands smoking. She looked up and for a second Barry saw a glimpse of Cailtin but then they turned back to Killer Frost. 

"We could have been Gods together but you decided to save her. Why?" Questioned Savitar. 

"For a second I forgot the meaning of friends and people who love you. we have been through so much together and I couldn't walk away from that. Sounds so cheesy and sappy but it's true. I tried but I couldn't turn my back on them," answered Killer Frost. 

In the back Cisco couldn't believe his eyes as he jumped in excitement at Cailtin's arrival. Joe also let out the breath he was holding in. 

"You'll have to get through me first to get to her," warned Killer Frost. 

"As you wish," mocked Savitar. 

He went forward to Killer Frost but didn't see the flash of lighting zoom past and he went flying back. There stood Flash, he didn't stop long before he charged at Savitar again who managed to get up and start towards them again. This time both Killer Frost and Flash made their way towards him. Sliding at full speed, Flash struck Savitar in the stomach and then grabbed his hands and elbowed him in the ribs (what he assumed was the ribs under the suit). With the force of the speed of Flash, Savitar stumbled back but this didn't stop him. 

With a white flash of light, he hit Flash who flew back and slide to a stop. Pain ran through his whole body as he tried to get up. 

This didn't stop Killer Frost as she ran and ducked at his punch attack. She turned and in a blink of an eye a crystal appeared in her hand and she struck it in his shoulders. He turned and hit her in the stomach and she fell to the ground. He was about to hit her with a blast of the same thing as Flash when with a yellow flash, she was gone. Savitar turned around and saw Flash and Killer Frost standing on the other side. He saw the way Flash examined the cute on her face. 

It was not only concern... 

"Weak and pathetic... That's what you all are. I could make you the most powerful being but you don't see that. You will go down in history as Gods," yelled Savitar. 

"I'd rather go down in history as a person that took down someone who thought he could become God among humans," remarked Flash. 

Flash and Killer Frost both charged towards Savitar together and this time they were joined in by Vibe. 

"Couldn't let you both have all the fun.... Team Flash is back baby," he called out as he blocked an attach by Savitar. 

Gypsy ran to the crystal wall that Killer Frost had made and started to break the ice so she could release Iris out before Savitar came for her again. She was joined by HR and Tracy who started to help. 

Vibe, Flash and Killer Frost all took turns in attacking Savitar and blocking attacks from him. They were not going to let him win at any cost. Flash was struck again and he fell down next to Vibe. Killer Frost wasn't giving up so she went for the attack. He aimed at her with his blaster but she banged her hands together and a wall rose in between them and it took the blast. She slide back as she tried to hold the wall and take the blast. 

She knelt to the ground as she was drained from all this. Breathing heavily she looked up slowly and saw Savitar stop in front of her. 

"There is no point in fighting me. I will win always and it's too late. I opened the portal and soon I will get ride of Flash so I can raise."

"Don't... Bet.. On it," called Joe as he came to a stop. He was out of breath and sweaty as he was running. "I destroyed your little toy thing... So I don't think Barry is going anywhere anytime soon." 

"No...." Yelled Savitar. He turned to Killer Frost and grabbed her by the neck and pulled her up. "Flash like I said... This was always about the person that you love and losing them will leave you devastated..."

As if like a light has turned on in his mind, it clicked in. The fate was never only on Iris dying. They had always been so forced in saving Iris as they thought that what they saw was what would happen. His feelings for Caitlin grown so much that losing her was what pained him the most. 

How could he not released this earlier? Losing Caitlin would mean more to him because she was the one person that he couldn't see upset or hurt. He still loved Iris but not as much as he loved Caitlin. Savitar had already figured that out but was this  all a trap? Was this night meant to end with Caitlin dying not Iris? Had they gotten this all wrong?
