Next Gen: Manny's Warning

John had received a call to meet him at a place he hadn't been in a long time; a place where he first met someone he thought he'd never see again. He stepped into the rocky ditch, taking a cigarette out of his trusty trench coat. He was about to light it when a gust of wind out of nowhere blew the lighter out.

John sighed, giving an almost fake laugh, "Manny, ever the joker, eh?"

"I come with a warning, John." Manny appeared behind John - who was unaware he was behind him -.

"Fucking Hell, I guess you never got out of that habit..." John grabbed his chest, startled by Manny's actions; he went to light his cigarette again, only for Manny to swipe his hand over it and blow it out, causing John to sigh in annoyance, "So, what's this so called warning you got for me? Come to warn me someone else close to me is gonna betray me, and then do it yourself again?"

Manny sighed in defeat, "Trust me on this one, John; that me is behind us. This warning I come with, it is the truth. It is of your children."

"Now I know you're lying. I have no kids..." John frowned; more under his breath, he commented, "That I know of."

"Your future kids."

"Heh, if you really think I, of all people, can handle one kid, let alone the plural of that, then you are dead wrong, mate." John laughed.

"You are more capable than you think, John." Manny gave an understanding smile.

John shook his head and rolled his eyes; he folded his arms, "This warning you come with then?"

"Lucifer Morningstar has placed a deal with one of his own, that he comes for one of your own. He also makes it an idea that he may turn them against one another."

"Hmph, I guess that does sound a lot like Lu... but, what makes you think I have the chance of having any kids at the moment?"

Manny smiled knowingly, "You are with Miss Jezebel, are you not?"

"Yes..." John's mouth gaped open, before he gave a stern look and shook his head, "No. At the moment, she doesn't need shit like Lu coming in and plotting. She's been through a lot already."

"Do you really think anything would stop him? Even something as that?"

"Nope." John sighed; he glanced down for a second, "Why do you come now? Why are you bothered about me and my... family now, even after all this time of no contact?"

He looked up to see Manny was no longer there, "Bastard."

John kicked a stone, making his way out of the rock pit. He lit a cigarette, thinking on Manny's warning about Lucifer.
