My eyes slowly shifted around the private hospital suite as the doctor stood at the end of the bed talking. The words leaving his mouth slipped through my system and soul as I struggled to process anything as soon as the words 'head trauma, induced coma, amnesia, memory loss, and relearning' left his lips.

I felt okay, physically. Sure I had the odd scrape and scab from previous wounds but I could move all my body parts in perfect order. My test for reflexes and reactions came back perfect, my liver and kidney function tests were spot on and I was eating..

But mentally, I was scrambled eggs. I couldn't recall being in any accident. But I had been.

How I received a head trauma, but I did have one.

Or why I ended up in hospital. But I am..

"When can I go home?" I asked cutting the conversation off between the doctor and my long time friend, Billy.

"Ms Hartwell-"

"Katy." I corrected shifting myself onto my side to relieve the pressure on my back.

"Katy.. I understand this is a difficult time but I must stress the situation... Amne-"

"I know what it is.. But I can't sit here. I need to be doing something, I- I won't get better in here!" I stressed pushing my hair back.

Billy took in my appearance and looked to the doctor "I mean, she's physically able, I can take care of her.. You said her test results have came back okay..."

The doctor sighed before looking back at me "If you wish to leave, then I cannot stop you. But I must stress on the importance of coming back for regular checks."

"I will." I vowed sitting up slightly.

"And any problems, you need to come back in immediately."

"Got it."

He then turned to Billy who straightened up a little "Although Katy is responding well, we cannot guarantee her progression will continue.."

He frowned "What does that mean?"

"Katy.." The Doctor looked to me as he began to speak to both of us. "At times will display different characteristics. These may be usual or unusual depending on how you are. I've treated a person before now who's been a solid church goer, turn into a lose lipped cannon, cussing and doing things out of character for a devoted Christian."

I looked at him perplexed "So I'm going to be different? How?"

"Unfortunately I cannot say. You may have a short temper, you may be over-friendly, I cannot say. Katy, you remember the accident, or you may not. You may not remember other pieces of information also. Leaving means you will have to have full support from family and friends."

"She'll have it." A voice spoke making my head snap towards the door.

Seeing the six foot plus, skin headed man, I grinned "Hey Aaron."

"What's up Kat? They kicking you out?" He asked coming over to press a kiss on my cheek.

"Fingers crossed, but doc here isn't sure."
